8 battleships sortied out in a show-of-force this morning to exercise the fleet and ultimately go to battle. All the vessels steamed back and forth jockeying for fighting position as the sea raged all around. Columns formed and disperesed, and we chased salvos.
Finally Admiral Goody had all the units in position and unleashed aquatic fury in fleet-on-fleet action reminiscent of Suriago Straits or Trafalgar. Casualties (the USS OYSTER) mounted as the epic duel continued. Finally the belligerents retired to regroup and refit. Is the battle over? Stay tuned.
Oh yeah, we swam about 1400 yards too.
