With St. Patrick’s Day so close, I was feeling my Irish, so the call went out “Oh, Jimmy O, the Pipes, the Pipes are calling, from ramp to ramp up and down we will glide.”
Their story is up for your viewing pleasure.
The Twitterverse came back with some comical responses to what I should and shouldn’t be doing with my Irish Pipes, so thank you for that.
We started off with a mosey around the parking lot to the front of discovery place.

Today’s workout was intended to be a fun play on words inspired by “Danny Boy” because we were using 30 lb pvc pipes, so the pipes were calling with St. Patrick’s day being so close. This song happened to be one of my grandfather Seamus McGonagle’s favorite songs. My grandfather fought during the Irish Uprising of 1916 and was forced to leave Ireland and entered the states in 1917. So, it makes sense that he liked this song so much because the song recounts the loss of a son who must leave his parents. Late yesterday I found out that my 23 year old nephew Eric may have taken his own life. He bought a gun on Saturday and went out into a remote part of the Arizona desert and cannot be located. As the lyrics of the song go “’Tis you. ‘tis you must go and I must bye” The song recounts the love and loss of a son. As for my grandfather, we was forced to leave his family never to see them again. For my nephew, he chose a path to leave as well. This choice has devastated my brother Jim and all of our family. We pray that he returns.
I apologies to for posting such a somber back blast. Today and the days ahead will be difficult for me and my family. Today’s distraction at the Mad Scientist was helpful in dealing with this situation. I find that just by being around my brothers at F3, the seemly most difficult situations become easier. There is nothing special about and really nothing that is needed other than just being there. During most workouts I don’t say much. Partially because I can’t breathe, but mostly because I’m a quite shy guy. I enjoy the banter, encouragement and mocking of my F3 brothers. It keeps me going and humble. Thank you so much to my brothers who help make my life better. I ask that you pray for Eric and my brother Jim in hope that they both find their way through Gods guidance.
Thank you to Jimmy O allowing me to Q. Thank you to all the PAX and the support you provide. F3 has been a life changing experience for me and will be in the future as well.
