Fission Auto Works – Have we got a deal for you

Texting with Titan about what to do at Fission – and he suggested his tires and harnesses.  He also suggested an arsenal of other toys including a sledge hammer that he apparently carries around in his car.  Figuring that I would walk before a ran (not a big runner) – I figured I’d start with just the tires.

After 24 hours to let the whole experience marinate – here’s what we did, to the best of my recollection.

Warm-o-rama: Joggy Jog around the parking lot with some butt kickers and carioca thrown in for good measure.  Then we did a variety of the usual suspects to prepare for what we were about to do: SSH, IST, Windmill, Mountain Climbers into a quick set of bro-ga.

The Thang: With 11 PAX present and accounted for, we made one line to take an Indian Run over to Cowboys.  Indian/Cowboys – struck me as funny.  Probably need to change that to Native Americans and Bovine Engineers Non-Gender Specific to stay PC.

Lunge walk across the lot and grab some space for a little curb work – Muhammad Ali’s, Incline Mericans, Offset Mericans on the Curb – Left and Rigth, Decline Mericans

I was expecting a more symmetrical parking lot when we got to Cowboys – but it’s more of a Blob than a squared of space.  Undeterred, we lined up for Suicides.  Depending on where you lined up – the distance traveled varied a bit.

Round 1 – Jump Squats x 10 at Island 1, Island 2 and at the end of the lot

              Round 2 – Repeato with CDD x 10

Head back to 131 for an Indian Run to the tires

Our gear for the day included 2 tires with hooks that were attached to harnesses, and one “plain” tire – no hooks.

Two teams of 5 lined up – 3 PAX near the harnessed tire, 2 PAX about 25 yards away for a relay race

All PAX take a turn dragging the tire to the other side.  When not dragging you performed an exercise OYO.  The 11th man tire flipped the 3rd wheel.

The details are really foggier than they should be (it was only yesterday)

We did 4 rounds – two pulling the tire w/ harness around your waist, two pulling the tire while you went backwards w/ harness in your hands.  Exercises for each round were exceptional.

Next – we lined up facing each other 5 on one side 6 on the other.  But now we were one team.  Each PAX took a turn dragging the tire to the other side.

PAX 1 drag – all others did burpees

PAX 2 drag – all others recovered

Repeato Burppes/Recover until all PAX had a turn.

The Home Stretch:

We lined up in our original teams – each team had a tire w/o harness

First in line flipped the tire three times, peeled off and did 3 burpees.  Rotate through the line until each PAX had 3 or 4 turns being the flipper.

MARY: Circle up.  SSH, Pretzel Crunch, Low Flutters, Rosalitas, J-Lo, Downward Dog/Pigeon.

Humidity Soaked Moleskine:

I had a good time doing something a little different with the tires.  I hope you all got what you came for.

Prayers were lifted up for a friend of Deep Dish who is going to hospice after a long battle (10+ yrs) with brain cancer.  Also, prayers of thanks for a family friend of BagBoy that had tests reveal cancer was no longer present.

Thanks Titan for the opportunity to lead.  Your energy is a blessing and being around that energy to start the day is always a good time.
