Four corners but with 7 instead

Four of The Sword’s regulars joined Roadie for a not-as-cold-as-predicted-but-still-a-brisk-269-kelvin workout. Let’s get down to the nitty gritty.

The Thang
Given The Sword‘s decently sized parking lot with pullup bars at the top and a hearth by the fireplace (the perfect height for dips I might add) down below, we did a 4-corners type workout though it was shaped more like a frying pan or perhaps the letter P (see artwork to better understand).

There were 7 stations in this 4-corners workout. At each station we performed 10 reps of an exercise and as we completed the circuit, the rep count was reduced by 1. This pattern was to be repeated until any one of the following became true; (a) zero was the rep count and the rep count was zero, (b) the PAX collectively left, or (c) 45 minutes had elapsed. After performing the workout the resulting condition* for termination was option (c) 45 minutes had elapsed.

The station-exercises were;

  1. Pullups
  2. Monkey Humpers
  3. Allan Iversons
  4. Muhammad Alis
  5. Dips
  6. Apolo Ohnos
  7. Burpees

The location of each exercise is accurately depicted below

*At 6:09 an offer was extended to the PAX to stop the routine and transition into “Mary”, however @tuck quickly declined, citing concerns about PAX placing their respective sixes on the cold ground.

Mary
None.

Moleskin

  • @tommy_boy took us out in a prayer – thank you sir
  • @qbert entertained the Pax with database questions, a few of which I attempted to help
  • Discussions about characters from the Rocky franchise took place during each repetition of the Muhammad Alis. Also the actor we were struggling to remember the name…. Billy D. Williams
  • The Pax also shared some thoughts about
    • some low turnout workouts and how that may be caused by there being too many (which was also debated) workouts to choose from in the Lake Norman region, something we’re sure @turncoat is pontificating as we speak
    • perceived workout difficulty as a function of AO reputation
    • future MQ identification for The Mighty Oak (something I’ve been thinking about as I close in on 1 year as its MQ), and
    • getting more FNGs in F3 and also getting more Pax to Q.

All in all, great mumblechatter.
