After committing to Q'ing for the Sword on Monday, I regrettably was under the influence when I logged on to officially sign up to Q The Sword. That led me to the genius idea to bookend it at The Foundry. Well, the alarm rang and I was up ready to go without a plan of what I was going to do, so I decided on the way over to do the old faithful off campus, trail exploring, never disappointing, beat down. This was set up as the pre workout or warmup to Bam Bam's Q at the Hangover. 5:30 struck and 8 Pax were eagerly awaiting. After confirming a leash was available for Baxter, we headed out. Here is our story:
Head down to the front entrance and circle up for warm-a-rama.
20 – SSH
10 – Cotton Pickers
10 – Toy Soldiers
10 – Windmills
I then instructed the pax in order to cross the road we would need to pay a toll.
10 – Burpees
Run to the entrance of the trail. We had to pay the county to run the trails.
5 – Burpees
We then did 15 – one legged squats
Run to the wood bridge and do 15 – mericans with right hand on the rail and 15 – mericans with left hand on rail. We found a turtle who wanted to participate, but decided to hang back.
Lunge walk the rest of the way of the bridge (guessing about 25 yards). Run to the main intersection and hang a left across a concrete bridge to the second bridge. I'm guessing about 100 yards. This is where I decided a round of DORA would be appropriate so we partnered up.
100 – mericans
200 – squats
300 – LBC's
If you finished before the other groups continue running laps or burpees. Your choice. Note no Pax choose burpees.
Headed back in the other direction except I threw in broad jump burpees on the way back across a bridge about 25 yards worth. We basically repeated our trip but in reverse.
Gathered around for some Mary:
15 – pretzel crunches
20 – low flutters
20 – dying cockroach
Plank for 45 seconds. Recover, recover…
Great work by all today. It was extra thick today and difficult to breathe in the thick soupy air. Bam Bam, Bunyan, Kosar, and Rooter all maned up and doubled down. Strong work fellas. As Q'bert and I stood with our coffee recovering and heckling I was glad it wasn't me out there. It looked brutal. At one point during the heckling there was a full moon spotted, it was quick, but timely placed in our direction. Could have been a wardrobe malfunction, but we're still looking into the situation. Once again, truly greatful for F3 and all that hold me accountable and keep pushing me when I'm ready to quit. Until next time. #ididthisforblackbeard
