Today I took my first swing at the newest AO in Race City, the Pit. As most of you know well pump issues left YHC without running water for the weekend. I carried water by the buckets to use for the most essential of things, flushing toilets. One thing I learned from this, water is heavy.
I arrived at the Pit this morning riding in style. Driving my daughter's VW. This is when the ridicule first started. My only defense, "at least it's not a Prius". That seemed to calm the MC a bit, and I commenced unloading the mornings props. I brought along 3 five gallon buckets of water, 2 gallon jugs of water, 2 twenty pound Kettlebells, and a sack of pea gravel. Once Brushless finished his lonely ruck, we got moving.
Warmarama
We started off with a round of SSH, Merkins, IST, and WM. 10-20 each IC.
The Thang
The task was simple, just carry something. Here were our choices.
2) 5 gallon buckets filled with water "farmer carry".
1) 5 gallon bucket filled with water "Spartan carry".
2) Gallon jugs filled with water with the option to carry in the "awnold" or "Frankenstein" position.
2) 20 pound Kettlebells to be carried "zamporini".
1) sack of pea gravel to be carried "over the shoulder"
Each Pax member got to choose something to carry, and we walked to the end of the road. We will call that the top. At the top, we started a burpee ladder. You are welcome Contra. We walked back to the launch point carrying our props, dropped them, continued our burpee ladder, and chose a different item to carry. This time we went the other direction. Down the hill, and a little further to the bottom. We continued on until we all carried each item either up to the top, or down the hill to the bottom. We also finished our burpee ladder to 10, (55 burpees). Great job all.
We made it through each item with just enough time for Mary. We did LBC, Box Cutters, The W, a round of planks, and Maktharndyes.
As always, the Race City Pax is an amazing group to spend my morning with. Thank you Comet for allowing me to take over the Pit today. Wish you could have been there, and I hope your little one sleeps better tonight. I was excited to hear about the return of Wide Right. Glad to have you back! Contra, "We are going to do burpees, right". Yes Contra, there will be burpees. Brushless I missed how much you rucked today. Great job. We had prayer requests for Cheech's family, Contra's friend, and for safe travels for my 2.0. Lastly, please don't forget about Deep End, and his family.
Amen.
