AO

After months of putting off the inevitable, YHC got the gentle nudge necessary to take the plunge into my VQ. The good news, I thought, was that SVU on a Tuesday is usually pretty light, so I wouldn't have too many onlookers while I felt my way through my first time. However, the great region of Denver F3 turned out in droves (for SVU) to support YHC. It was great to see so many faces not normally seen at SVU. Hope they come back after today!

Reflection:

2 Corinthians 12:1-10

“This boasting will do no good, but I must go on. I will reluctantly tell about visions and revelations from the Lord. I was caught up to the third heaven fourteen years ago. Whether I was in my body or out of my body, I don’t know—only God knows. Yes, only God knows whether I was in my body or outside my body. But I do know that I was caught up to paradise and heard things so astounding that they cannot be expressed in words, things no human is allowed to tell. That experience is worth boasting about, but I’m not going to do it. I will boast only about my weaknesses. If I wanted to boast, I would be no fool in doing so, because I would be telling the truth. But I won’t do it, because I don’t want anyone to give me credit beyond what they can see in my life or hear in my message, even though I have received such wonderful revelations from God. So to keep me from becoming proud, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger from Satan to torment me and keep me from becoming proud. Three different times I begged the Lord to take it away. Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”

Pride wants to ruin us, our families, our careers, and our spiritual walk with the Lord. Satan’s first sin was pride; thinking he was equal with God. God knows how dangerous it is, and wants to do whatever it takes to not allow that pride to destroy us. The less we make ourselves and submit to Him, then his Glory can be revealed in our weaknesses. This is how we keep pride at bay.

Mumble Chatter:

  1. WIth Dandelion (and his hurt foot) away, YHC thought it would be a good time to get in some plyometric exercises and running up LBH. Unfortunately, YHC didn't know Hefty and his bum ankle would come. Today's workout wasn't great with a hurt ankle. Thanks Hefty for the great attitude and support even through the pain.
  2. Toto informed us the reason he doesn't like SVU is that stupid hill I made him run up and down 20 times…oops! He did kick butt and finished both rounds quicker than anyone, so he must be getting his hill workouts somewhere else.
  3. Mater reminded me we did legs yesterday.
  4. Shirley beast-moded today's workout. Probably should have put him and Toto in an advanced class today.
  5. Good to see Shaker back after a short SVU sabbatical.
  6. Bertha is always the happy participant, even at 5:30 in the morning. He will have to do some BROGA for a Q sometime for those of us who can't get to the 6:30 class.
  7. Didn't hear much from Strudel. I know he was there when we started and there when we finished, but the dark streets and late sunrise means it's hard to see everyone throughout the entire workout.
  8. Finkle informed me that Star Jumps are actually done at FiA. Guess you guess know where I have been working out most Saturday's now. FiA workouts smell a lot better than F3 workouts, so don't knock it til you try it.

Thanks again for all the encouraging words from everyone and for coming out this morning. Hopefully, everyone got in a great workout so they had the energy to seize the day.
