Since Blackbeard said we could copy and paste his copy and paste I will do that… Since SVU only had a lowly 2 PAX post we'll include them with the mighty Mustang. However Mustang numbers were low today. Though 9 for Mustang sounds okayish for a Murph, that number was padded by Schoolbus bringing half of his family with him as 3 of his 2.0s joined us as another 2.0 slept in the car during the workout. His other 5 2.0's stayed at home. FNG's tagged above are NeHi (2.0 of School Bus), Squirrel (2.0 of School Bus), and Iron Horse (NOT a 2.0 of School Bus, just too lazy to register to the site).
From Wikipedia:
Michael Patrick Murphy (7 May 1976 – 28 June 2005) was a United States Navy SEAL officer who was awarded the U.S. military's highest decoration, the Medal of Honor, for his actions during the War in Afghanistan. He was the first member of the U.S. Navy to receive the award since the Vietnam War.
Michael Murphy was born and raised in Suffolk County, New York. He graduated from Pennsylvania State University with honors and dual degrees in political science and psychology. After college he accepted a commission in the United States Navy and became a United States Navy SEAL in July 2002. After participating in several War on Terrorism missions, he was killed on 28 June 2005, after his team was compromised and surrounded by Taliban forces near Asadabad, Afghanistan.
Murphy was killed after he left his cover position and went to a clearing away from the mountains, exposing himself to a hail of gunfire in order to get a clear signal to contact headquarters for relaying the dire situation and requesting immediate support for his team. He dropped the satellite phone after being shot multiple times but picked the phone back up and finished the call. While being shot, he signed off saying – "Thank You", then continued fighting from his exposed position until he died from his wounds.
The WIB done today (and every last Monday of the month) named in his honor consists of a 1 mile run, 100 pull-ups, 200 'mericans, 300 squats and another 1 mile run. Murphy was known to wear a 20# weighted vest when completing this workout.
Reflection:
Todays reflection is brought to you by the verse of the day Jeremiah 23:24
"Can anyone hide in secret places so that I cannot see them?" declares the Lord "Do not I fill heaven and earth?" declares the Lord.
In other words you can run, but you can't hide. You can spend your whole life trying to reject Him.
