How Can I Drive Fast When There is a Cougar in the Car!?!?

Today was speed training at #wheelz.

The Thang

Launch from Hope Park and moseyed to the intersections of Plantation Ridge Dr. and Montibello Dr; this would be the bottom of the ladder, the rest point, your moment of zen. The object was to run the following distances faster than you 5k pace in ascending order taking an equidistant recovery jog between each step of the ladder. 400m, 800m*, 1200m* 800m*, 400m.  You may noticed the asterisks, they will be explained later

The pax set off for the first 400m jaunt to Runningdeer Dr. at a “faster than 5K pace” and recovery jog back to the starting point.  Plank while you wait for the six.

Run 800m to (Pipa) Middleton Pl at a “faster than 5K pace” and recovery jog back. Plank for the six

Run 1200m to Morrison Plantation Pkwy (I can see my car!  So close…) at a “faster than 5K pace” and recovery jog back. Plank for the six.

And repeato back down, 800, 400 and an F2 pace mosey back to Hope Park while sharing our favorite BRR stories from years gone by….

Recover, recover. Index & COT

Moleskin……

Apologies to Hummer. I measured out my distances using Strava and he kindly pointed out that the 800m was a few meters off. Will use a more precise instrument next time.

The PAX pondered the Native American named street of Runningdeer. Turns out, untrue. No historical references could be found in a 3 min Google search.

Hummer mention the less famous in this country, Pipa Middleton.  Perhaps the reason for the streets namesake.  Worth a Google search.
