Skipper runs a slow warmup to the end of Crepe Ridge and back to test out the nagging knee. Stil sore, but seems fine. Rolls into the AO at 0527. YHC arms were still swollen from the 1550 merkins (SMH) that were performed at yesterday's SVU and was looking forward to a run.
At 0532, I'm still a SadClown but the Fun Run Must Go On! I knew Dandelion was on vaca, and Vortex and GW had the P200, Cheetah is out working on the road, Jeeves was stuck in a snowstorm or something, Spork was a no show and well Mulligan, he doesn't run much anymore (I saw what you ran last night but that was yesterday). So that covers the usuals. Now, Lightbulb had slacked the night before, "what route are ya'll taking in case I'm late?" I told him Governor's island area. So, I leave the AO late and then wait until 0534 at the top of the hill. I looked down Rustling Woods, nothing. Little did I know that LB had started at his house AT 0532. So I took off and did Camino de Muerte, through Covington, Blades back to Governors and then looped back to the AO (6 miles). Strava shows that LB did make it down to Governors, not sure how we missed each other n the way back. He tried out his new Tron vest, and I'm sure it helped him capture the 2 PRs he got. Sorry we didn't cross paths, but I'm sure we'll see you out next Friday. But remember what the great philosopher Vortex once said, "If you are on time, you are late."
Anyways, prayers-out to our P200 family of runners taking on the Columbia to Charleston gauntlet.
