Touted as the Swede beat down. It was really the Nordic beat down. This is why we do not live farther north. The temperature was just 25F, which I believe kept many away this morning. ‘Cause yesterday really sucked at Hollywood with Eeyore and 25 mph winds (exaggeration but almost). At least there was not any wind this morning, and it was clear and beautiful. With honest confessions from Dry Rub, Eeyore and Tiramisu, they would have fartsacked this morning. If I did not have the Q, I would have considered it too. Hat Trick and Beefcake (disguised a Uncle Rico, wearing Uncle Rico’s blue sweatshirt) were on hand for my VQ Weinke. Just Hat Trick was there for that fateful day a year ago.

- Channeling my inter-‘Misu, I took every wrong turn available on getting to Fission. I was half awake. Then with a display of speed I passed the “ShingleBus” on the right doing… well more than the posted speed limit. I kinda scared myself. I am not sure if Tiramisu wet his pants. I think he was sleeping too. Funny – Dry Rub did not comment. I figure he was driving asleep to the AO also.
- Hat Trick arrived at usual time 5.29.59 seconds. It is uncanny. I think he waits just outside of view to pull-up.
- Eeyore came in hot. His normal driving MO. Cornelius’ finest tailed him when pulled into the parking lot, and he jumped out and started running like Will Ferrell from Talladega Nights. Remember the scene “I am on fire!” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P9uMM1-SbeQ
- Fortunately, he was left to his own recognizance. The Pax started out and returned to fetch him.
- We Indian ran everywhere. YHC thought we would need two lines; however, with just six total it made too much sense to make on line. Eeyore’s comment, “Indian runs suck with 6 Pax”.
- YHC called Beefcake “Uncle Rico” the entire time. Until Namerama it was Dry Rub that said “Hey Magnus, its Beefcake not Uncle Rico”. Huh… He was wearing Uncle Rico’s blue sweatshirt. Mind you it was very cold. Beefcake had his lid pulled down to his eyes and it was dark. I did not know. Why did the Pax wait 45 minutes to tell me?
- Beefcake or “Uncle Rico” rather was the timekeeper for balls to the wall. I think we did two plus sets of two minutes. I could barely take it.
- The coffeteria was as good as ever. Earl Grey serving up coffee (Snickerdoodle my favorite) and the Java boys were talking smack. They did not need to try to hurdle us during the plank walk (aka sideways bear crawl). Jolly Roger and Dallas were there too. Not sure where they posted.
- Hat Trick is off to the Bahamas in a couple weeks bringing his family and in-laws from Minnesota. This was definitely the day to think “warm thoughts” and the Caribbean. Early congratulations brother.
- Beefcake (aka Uncle Rico) is headed to Cancun for Spring Break. I am thinking I wish I were going too.
