On a crisp fall morning, 13 men got after it at Mad Scientist. Here is the story to the best of my memory:
0430: Qbert started rucking. There was likely some air drums being played.
0500: Etch, Tweetsie, and YHC joined Qbert for some more rucking. Great 2nd F fellas.
0528: Vandelay rolls in hot. Awesome, we have 12, a nice even number! Until… *
0529: Someone later claimed we started a few ticks early…apologies.
WARM-O-RAMA:
Mosey to the corner of Gilead and Statesville, then over to the hidden cinder blocks, including high knees and butt kickers. That would be our only warm up.
The Block Thing:
Partner up. Size does not matter.
- Partner 1: Zamporini carry the block at a brisk pace.
- Partner 2: 15 Mericans then 15 Squats OYO, run to catch partner
- Flip Flop.
- Repeato.
- Keep repeat-o-ing until we get to the playground across from Gilead. Disclaimer given at this point: "I'm not a professional", which was obvious as we crossed the street with cinder blocks over our heads.
- * Mona Lisa joined us during this, only 1-2 minutes late, surprised that we were already gone and had skipped warm-ups!
At the playground:
- Plank if waiting.
- Partner 1: 15 block swings
- Partner 2: 15 squats
- Flip flop and repeato.
- Partner 1: 10 pullups OYO
- Partner 2: 15 block swings
- Flip flop and repeato. Because, as Etch said, it would have led to mutiny if we carried the blocks that far for merely 1 set of pullups!
- All: Plank x 90 seconds. Everyone stated their F3 name and how long they've been in F3.
Return blocks via:
- Partner 1: Block curls AMRAP while walking
- Partner 2: 15 Mericans then 15 Squats OYO, run to catch partner
- Flip Flop.
- Repeato.
- Keep repeat-o-ing until we get to the blocks' home.
- Plank while waiting.
Mosey to the parking deck for:
- Bear crawl up 2 levels.
- Crab walk up 2 levels.
- Lunge walk up the last level.
- Run down the deck.
- Quadraphilia up the entire deck, run down to cars.
Mary:
- Man Maker Elbow Plank x 10 IC
- Shoulder Touch Mericans x 10 IC
Recover, recover. According to Strava, we covered 1.7 miles.
Moleskin:
- We lifted up Schneider and family in COT.
- We lifted up Vandelay's M as she has a 24 hour like bug. Some jokester said we'd pray for Vandelay! Sound off below who was that?
- Speaking of Vandelay, he has the Q tomorrow at Varsity.
- Speaking of Varsity, as we were planking and putting blocks back, MQ Tweetsie decided to stay closer to the deck. Eventually we figured it out! Reports say he was doing Mericans so that's cool.
- Bob Ross, strong work today. When is your next Q?
- Speaking of Qs, new Mad Scientist MQ Jimmy O would like to line up some VQs for January. Late Night and Mona Lisa are strong candidates for that! Sound off below with the date you are signing up for.
- As we were putting the blocks back, YHC warned everyone to be careful on the slippery surface. Some joked that it would be funny if Banana Peel slipped. That's just good comedy right there…but seriously we don't wish anyone harm. And thanks again Banana Peel for the blocks at Mad Sci, YHC likes to use them every time.
- Lawn Dart showing off with 1 armed block swings. Strong!
- Caboose joked he was going to stall a bit and do the best and most perfect squats ever before catching his partner, ha.
- Hippie, respect! Sir, did you call BS on the crab walks? Also, who can help out Hippie with a Q at Fission tomorrow?
- Etch and Qbert are beasts. They had to depart us a tad early, but certainly made up for it with some rucking to start. Also Qbert called YHC something not nice after the bear crawls, but he was the fastest and definitely impressed the Camp Gladiator crowd with his speed.
Great work gentlemen, enjoyed it. Have a great rest of the week.
