In the unseasonably warm gloom, 6 pax emerged from 5 vehicles (one pseudo-clown car) and embarked on a pretty typical journey into North Meck Park – quite possibly the best, most versatile AO in Huntersville. Here’s approximately what we did (it was an ‘on the fly’ Q, so the exact details will forever be unknown):
Circle up in parking lot for:
Toy soldier, long snapper, IST, windmill- sometime during warm-o-rama, it was brought to my attention that there is a January challenge, and some of the pax were trying to get 100 Mericans and 200 LBCs in every day. So we built that into the workout, starting with 10/20 IC to kick things off.
Post warm-up, we moseyed to the back picnic area, stopping along the way for some slow squats, Mericans, and LBCs, along with a lunge walk. At the picnic area, the pax were treated to dips, bulgarian split squats (are they really bulgarian?), step-ups, Mericans, and LBCs.
Mosey to soccer fields and circle the path, stopping for dry docks and slow squats and dying cockroach at one corner, folding card tables, Mericans, and LBCs at one corner, side lunges and calf raises at the third corner.
We moseyed to the main rock pile and stopped along the way for the last set of Mericans and LBCs, grabbed a rock and took it to the tennis court parking lot. There we did low/high/full curls, sumo squats, shoulder press, and skull crushers, brief mosey, and back to rocks for regular full curls, not so regular full curls (negatives), dead lift, shoulder press, and upright row.
Rocks back, then back to launch for pretzel crunch, and Ws.
Moleskine:
- Good crowd today – nice to have a few Viking regulars out there along with some relatively new blood (infrequent Viking posters)
- Glad to have some Q help — Eeyore had the Q but fell ill, so the Mericans and LBCs filled in the gaps of the unplanned workout nicely
- Great coffeeteria with full participation along with several pax from Gladiator
- Thanks for the opportunity to lead — another great morning at Viking!
