June Arnie’s Murph

Event Date

Jun 29, 2020

3 pax rose out of the fartsack and posted for the June Murph at Arnie's Army.

0500: YHC ran a sad clown 3-mile standard through the neighborhood behind Birkdale Village.  YHC rolled back in to an empty Jason's Deli parking lot, and was concerned that I'd have to sad clown the Murph as well, but fortunately the reliable Tuffy pulled in to the lot at 0527.

0530:  YHC and Tuffy took off on a 1 mile run to the Arnie's AO.  Upon arriving, we found Dingo there, in the middle of a set of squats.  He mentioned that he had to launch early, and only had one set remaining before he needed to take off.  We completed that set as a threesome (with Dingo calling the cadence), and then he departed.

In all, we did the usual 10 sets of:

  • Pullups x 10 OYO
  • Mericans x 10 IC
  • Squats x 15 IC

Tuffy and YHC took turns calling cadence.  When done, we ran 1 mile back to Jason's Deli and got a couple Mary exercises in before calling it:

  • LBC x 20 IC (Turncoat)
  • Low Flutter x 20 IC (Tuffy)

Recover, recover.

MOLESKIN:

  • Thanks to Tuffy for the accountability this morning.  It was hot and humid and not fun, but I'm always glad after the fact to have gotten out of bed for the Murph.  And much better to gut it out with other pax than do go it alone.  Thanks also to Dingo.  Glad we were able to catch him before he left, even if only briefly.
  • Tuffy and YHC discussed how numbers have been down.  Don't know if this is attributable to ongoing COVID related caution, pax being out of their routines due to quarantine, pax not loving the Murph, or other factors, but hoping that we will see more pax out in the coming weeks.  We missed all Murph regulars today.  Heads-up: If you have posted for an Arnie's Murph in the past 6 months or so, expect to get tagged on the July Murph pb.
  • Month of July at Arnie's is currently wide open.  If you're reading this, I am looking for some BA Qs to step up and lead us.  Do it now!
  • Thanks to Auto and Eeyore for the EH back in June 2016.  I hadn't realized it until this morning, but at some point during the past month, I had my 4-year F3 anniversary.  Couldn't be more grateful for this group and to Auto and Eeyore for pulling me in.

Aye,

TC
