Nine of Mountain Island’s finest responded to the pre-blast call of “KCIRB SEHCTAEEB” (loosely translated to mean that it’s all about the “Brick, Bee-Atches”.  Pax came prepared with gloves in hand for an excellent Tuesday morning beat down.

Warm-o-rama

High knees, butt kicks, Side shuffle x 2, SSH x 25 I/C, windmill x 15 I/C, cherry pickers (aka, dingle berry pickers) x 15 I/C, mercans x 10 I/C

The Thang

Come grab some bricks/pavers, they come two to a set. Run to back lot with bricks in hand. Each set includes 3 exercises (or more) with bricks, and then a lap around the track with bricks in hand

1st set – chest

incline bercans on curb, over the head brick raises with a chest tri press while lying down with head over the curb (that’s a mouthful and a poor visual), brick wwii sit/ups with chest fly on the down. Run around track

 

2nd set – shoulders

CDD with bricks, Over-the-head alternating shoulder press, shoulder extensions out to side, front shoulder extensions. Run around track

 

3rd set – biceps/back

10 pull-ups OYO, Gun-show 45 curls (15 low, 15 med to high, 15 full on the side), bent over row. Run around track

 

4th set – triceps

Curb dips with bricks, skull crushers, diamond mericans with bricks I/C, tri extensions. Run around track

 

5th set – legs

Squats, Apollo Anton Ono, lunges (all w/ bricks)

 

6th set – abs

Meet your maker plank with a special brick jab option, mason twist, leg lifts with bricks with each Pax counting down from 10 at their preferred pace

Run back to lot, no time nor need for Mary after that one

 

Moleskine

-The Big Mac mobile could double as a mobile pet groomer

– Although Rosie demonstrates great prowess with the “heal”, she is terrible at the side shuffle

– Overhead in the schoolyard during a lap around the track while kids stood there waiting for the bus: “Knowledge is power”. “Stay in school or you’ll find yourself running around a school parking lot in the early morning in the dark while carrying bricks”. 

– Certain shoulder exercises with bricks are more rotator cuff friendly than others

– Grip had a tingling sensation on the brick curb dips, not sure if that is good or bad

– Upon further review, doing Diamond brick mericans in cadence after dips and skull crushers may not have been the best Q call

– With this strong of a response we just may need more bricks. Big Mac has access to heavier ones for those weighing in at more than a deuce 

– Welcome FNG Kevin. He is RC’s friend from Mt. Holly. He is a business owner, father of 2.5 year old, and potentially pussy whipped like rest of us. Good to see him out in the gloom

– While it may be unpatriotic to not do the pledge during the warm-o-rama with the F3 American shovel flag firmly planted in the parking lot, it is even a higher crime and misdemeanor to leave it there (nice save El Tigre)
