Let’s Roll

Seven patriotic Americans came out against a backdrop of humidity on the 17th anniversary of 9/11 to challenge themselves to be heroes in the face of adversity, accompanied by a rallying cry of Let’s Roll

Take a lap around the school.  Come to the front of the school for a “Let’s Roll” workout.

Roll two dice. Add up the two dice. Do the exercise per below:

2 = 50 SSH

3 = 30 lunges (15 each side)

4 = 20 CDD

5 = 15 mercans

6 = 25 LBC

7 = 30 squats

8 = 40 mountain climbers (20 each side)

9 = 40 Apollo Ono (20 each side)

10 = 1 minute jumping rope (sans rope)

11 = 1 minute plank

12 = 15 burpees

We did about 20 separate rolls

Moleskine

  • 9/11 has at least three significant meanings:

    • 911 – emergency distress call. Also name of a fine F3’er who adds a certain level of dignity to these otherwise undignified workout proceedings

    • 9/11 – a day that will live in infamy. Never forget

    • September 11 – wedding anniversary of Natty Lite, a Nattiversary if you will. My wife sure is one lucky lady

  • Q ignored the randomness of some of the dice rolls to make sure we got all of the exercises in. It wasn’t cheating since nobody could see the numbers on the dice anyway

  • Post-op update on Slow Roll. He is recovering nicely from last week’s procedure. Asking him to show the scar was apparently a little uncomfortable for all of those involved in the exchange

  • A spider was killed at the Quarry by C-section. The death spawned a lot of baby spiders

  • What should one do with their hands during squats?

  • Methinks #9 was the hardest exercise of all

  • Twister brought some muay thai props to his very first Q on Saturday. Combining these props with Arizona’s and Pinky’s, and we would have the potential for an all-out Battle Royale. Stay tuned

  • There was a “time release” aspect of learning the linkage of Let’s Roll to the dice game. It is just so gratifying to see these kids using their brains now that school is back in session

  • Thoughts and prayers go out to 704 who goes under the knife tomorrow. Godspeed.

  • When you have the opportunity to really make a difference, do you have the intestinal fortitude to step up and be a hero?

  • Prayers for all who are in the path of the storm, and prayers for this great country

  • It’s both an honor and a privilege
