0700 – Duval was pushing for an early start to get us going in the little bit of a chill. At precisely 0700, we started out with a slow mosey in the parking lot until we got procedure out of the way. At 0704, we were finally joined by Metallica and Jiminy, shame you missed a great disclaimer. Blindside came strolling in even after the stragglers. The rumor was that he ran a mile or so before the fun started. Fantastic! We started with 9 SSH and kept a theme going for most of the hour. It’s the 9th of November and enjoying a great morning. As an Old Guy who has learned the hard way, the best way to keep the juices flowing is to keep the count going. The unruly pax of 20 couldn't resist the 2ndF mumblechatter, what a beautiful thing!
- SSH x 9
- IST x 9
- Merkins x9 (a common theme)
- Cherry pickers x 9 (I just thought you could pick them up off the ground)
- Apollo Ohno’s x 9
- And repeato (Makes the backblast easy)
- and probably some others I don't recall
The partnering up was required for the numbers of curls, chest presses and, my favorite, the 8 count burners.
Partner 1 runs while partner 2 lifts heavy rocks
- curls
- chest press
- 8 count burners
Another couple laps through the parking lot to the school
- People’s chair with air presses while partner 1 runs
- Repeato
- A few more Merkins x 9, SSH x 9, LBC’s x 9, 1 minute plank (a really good exercise for men of a certain age), repeato.
Run around the parking lot and back to our blocks.
- Repeato on the curls, chest press and 8 counts.
Back to the cars after we redistribute our blocks and begin a good 5 minute stretch with Moses.
- Repeato on the Merkins and LBC’s x 9.
0800. Recover Recover.
We definitely stayed warm once we got moving. Mission accomplished as all enjoyed the morning sun.
Thank you to Moses for the impromptu stretch. Needed and very well done.
Blackbeard with the best line of the am. Your gut’s not THAT big.
New names for Dylan Scheck (sp?), now known as Rocket. (Sorry Dylan). We love your Dad!
New name for Rodney Murray, now Camelback, named and EH’d by Crocs.
Thank you, Crocs for the music. Love the 80’s Jock Jam (not!)
Terrific workout and better way to start the day! 20 pax on a cold November morning, what a true blessing to be out with this great group. Thank you all.
Just need to be constantly thankful and praising God for the gifts he has delivered to me and all of us. Don’t know where I’d be without this group and look forward to many years of 2nd F. The first F is great but the second and third F’s are where the real victories are won.
