March Madiness on the first day of Spring

Event Date

Mar 20, 2017

First day of spring this morning but the temperature was no relief for the 7 men who showed up at Vanguisher to support their teams Final Four aspirations or in some cases to redeem an early exit. Pre-game with 2 men for the standard Standard and 2 for the Ultraman Standard.

Warm-up

Short jog around the parking lot then run the parking spaces, forward on the first white line sideways to the next, backwards to the end of the line repeto for 2 section of the parking lot.

Bill Balls: Leapfrog each cement ball with one merican in-between repeat for all 10.

Circle up: 30 SSH, 15 CP, Fast Feet with a Bobby Hurleys on the Q’s call for about 20.

Thang

Everyone grab a block from the stack and Zamparini around the blacktop.

Made stops for the following exercises

20 curls (in cadence)

30 Block swings

20 lunges (in cadence)

20 low block dips (in cadence)

5 WWII Situps with block

In between each exercise we played rounds of Foul Shot Bracket Buster©

Everyone picks a team in the NCAA tournament to shoot for and takes a turn at the foul line.

Round one – 3 shots each, one in to move on.

Round two – 2 shots each, one in to move on.

Round three – 1 shot each, in and you move on.

Each time someone was eliminated the Pax sent them off with 5 burpees. Total burpees I am going to call it at 90. It was hard to keep track as they seemed continuous at times.

Mosey back to the start for 15 W’s and 20 LBC in cadence, last one care of the Master Q.

Thank you Nordberg for letting me lead today and to all in attendance for letting me attempt to be original by adding the foul shots which hopefully increased our fitness greater than our accuracy. (Slight miscalculation on how hard it is to make a foul shot @5:30 in the morning, in 40 degrees, with gloves on, in the dark, after holding a cinderblock above your head.)

2016 Foul Shot Bracket Buster Champion was Ikea shooting for Michigan

Runner-up: Ikea – Michigan, Nordberg – UNC, DryHop – Wisconsin, Die Hard – UNC Wilmington, Chewie – UNC, Ultraman – VA Tech, Omar – Bucknell
