Calling all F3 LKN PAX – every year around this time we begin to look forward toward Memorial Day to celebrate and remember all those who have served our great nation. Our communities celebrate in a variety of ways, however at F3 we have a very specific way of remembering. We remember Navy SEAL Lt. Michael P. Murphy by completing his favorite workout. Many of our AO’s do ‘The Murph’ workout regularly once per month. And on Memorial Day we converge at various locations to reinforce and grow the bonds among us in addition to remembering those who have served to protect us. It’s a beast of a workout in the best way possible – anxiety before, pain during and exhilaration after. Most of all as we close in the COT, we state our thankfulness for the breath in our lungs and that we are able to work out together in this great country.
This year YHC is bringing a challenge: The Murph Every Monday in May at Mustang. That’s right PAX, what better way to celebrate Memorial Day and those who have served and protected us than doing Lt. Murphy’s workout every week during the month of May? (that’s a rhetorical question, share your alternatives during the workout as I’m sure there are many). So at 5:30 AM EST every on 5/3, 5/10, 5/17 and 5/24 we will complete The Murph at the Mustang AO (East Lincoln High School). Then on 5/31, we will converge at the Rescue Squad Park in Denver at 7:00 AM EST (coffeeteria to follow).
So get out of the fartsack and get your Murph on. Sure it may be a haul for you to make it to Mustang, it’s a challenge which means it should be challenging! The goal is 5 weeks of The Murph (if you count the one we’re doing on 4/26, that’s 6 weeks in a row). At a minimum, show for 1. Or get on the calendar for your local AO and Q The Murph in parallel.
Remember, iron sharpens iron, do this for the guy next to you and the guy next to him. I look forward to seeing you soon.
Namaste,
Bertha
