8 Pax met in the Gloom to put in some work. YHC warned in the PB that it wouldn't be an easy day, though many neglected to check that out and wandered blindly into 'Merican Mania, where we explored many varieties of 'Mericans.
WARMOROMA: Mosy lap around the parking lot, some side shuffle thrown in. Cirlce up for SSH, IST, Toy soldiers, arm circles, and slow deep 'Mericans (all x10 IC). Grab some blocks and head to the turf.
THE THANG: Circling up at mid field (audible to half circle due to the bright sun) we went around the compass, doing some excercises, then traveling. Each round ended with a variety of 'Merican It went something like this (all excercises x10 IC unless otherwise noted):
- Round 1 (south): Curls, squats, WW2s and regular 'Mericans; Side shuffle (left) to the south sideline, 5 squat jumps, side shuffle back.
- Round 2 (southwest): Skull crushers, squats, LBC's, and Wide 'Mericans; mosey to SW corner, 5 squat jumps, quadraphelia back.
- Round 3 (west): Lawn mowers, curls, pretzel crunch ea. side and Ranger 'Mericans (hands low and tight); Mosey to west sideline, 5 squat jumps, quadraphelia back.
- Round 4 (northwest): shoulder press, Bent over rows, Reverse Pretzel Crunch ea. side (shoulders on the ground, bring knees to chest), then Shoulder Touch 'Mericans (courtesy of Snake Eyes); Mosey to Northwest corner, 5 jump squats, quadraphelia back.
- Round 5 (north): Curls, squats, LBC's, Knee Touch 'Mericans (like Shoulder touch but a peter-parker-esque knee touch instead); side shuffle (right) to the north sideline, 5 squat jumps, shuffle back.
Here we broke for a much needed mobility moment curtesy of Rodeo. After, PAX were given a choice,
- Door #1 – Repeato of the above on the east side of the field,
- Door #2 – Mystery workout, could be harder, could be easier
- Door #3 – 5 minutes of something very hard, then frisbee.
There were a couple votes for 3, but majority went with #2 not a single vote for #1, which tells YHC that it's probably a keeper ;p
Door #2 – upon tallying the votes YHC instructed PAX to grab their blocks and mosey over to the hill. We proceeded to do a round of 12s (by twos), with 'Mericans at the bottom of the hill and Squats at the top. (10-2, 8-4 etc.). Door #2 definitely wasn't easier, but it made us stronger!
Finally, with 20 min left we did a few mary excercises then wrapped up with 10 minutes of frisbee.
MOLESKIN:
- That sun started getting strong around 7:30, but overall a beautiful morning.
- many of the blocks have gone missing, we were down to 8 (7 after today's workout, thanks to 66 lol). YHC will need to make a lowes run. If anyone has some blocks they'd like to donate please do!
- at COT prayers were raised for the families in Texas, as well as for our 2.0's that they would get surrounded with the right friends (and stay away from the wrong crowds).
