SO, YHC hasn't Q'd in a while. It was obvious with my forgetting when to ask for announcements before "name-o-rama", asking Cupcake "whats this exercise called"?, and various other rookie mistakes. But alas, I wanted to take the Q today and tomorrow. On October 3-4 1993, the Battle of Mogadishu happened in Somalia. So, we paid tribute today (October 3) with some pain, and we'll do it again tomorrow (October 4)………only with an entire new lineup of exercises.

OK, so during the battle of Mogadishu, we lost 18 brave American soldiers. So we did 18 reps of each exercise to honor their sacrafice. We also had 73 soldiers that were wounded during that same two day time frame. So, we did a total of 73 burpees and 73 mericans. We've all seen the movie, but I would encourage you to look up the footage of the captured black hawk pilot, the file photos of the two black hawks we lost, and read the book Black Hawk Down by Mark Bowden. This is an amzing read. As I mentioned in the COT today, that story is a big part of what inspired me to enlist in the Army after that conflict. After COT, I learned that our very own TAILHOOK was the pilot that delivered some of these heroes to their duty station in Mogadishu. Amazing.
