0515 the sound of air pumps could be heard inflating a couple boards. We launched under the full moonlight as planned. Unfortunately the clouds were doing their best to obscure its brilliance. Airstream was excited and first to hit the water I believe. We paddled halfway out of the cove and turned back for the 6 who was experiencing technical difficulties. Very quickly we got his board swapped and on our way we set out again towards the sand bar I like to call rattlesnake island. Ray sky starting to look pretty nice at this point. Took some photos, had a COT on the water. Ping prayed us out very nicely. Some of us paddled a few more minutes watching the sun rise as others headed back to shore. Coffee and breakfast provided by Tammy, kudos and thanks to the Puma family for hosting!
Two awards to bestow, best swimmer goes to Swing state and best host to Omega. New Lulu Run shorts await them.
The event was a success and we all had fun. Looks like we will try to do this every two weeks if not more frequently during summer. Perhaps moving to a Saturday. Launch point will rotate based on anyone willing to volunteer their dock or neighborhood lake front space. I will seek out public launch points that will accommodate an early arrival. On Saturdays I’m sure it would be easier to push the time back towards 6am and launch from public ramp.
So far I called this ‘paddle q’ and ‘moonlight paddle’ — comment below with what you think we should call this seasonal post from now on.
Thanks again for all who came out!
until next time,

cool idea to mix it up and use a great resource, LKN. Definitely going next time! And Cubicle, you have brought new ideas and energy to F3 this past year or so . Thanks!!!
Thank you Hippie! I appreciate it. F3 has in turn given me lots of energy and new ideas in my own walk of life. What a special group this is. It actually made it into my prayer at FKT this week I was proud to and grateful to be a part of such a great organization.
Agreed. Great leadership Cubicle. This seems awesome. I’m sold on joining in the future.
