7 of Mountain Island's finest appeared in the gloom thats not so gloom. As the pax gathered, greeted, and small-talked, the workout started abruptly. A quick run to the far park at the bottom of the neighborhood started the traditional murph. Arizona remarked that FiA loves their music, and why can't the men have the same? Of course, we added a twist. The chosen category: 80's Rock from Pandora over the 90's pop and 80's rock ballads. (…the latter would be the Q's choice and strong category. They say the first step is acceptance/admittance despite the risk of losing a "Man Card"..) For the exact title and artist, the pax received a reprieve of one pullup, one merican, and one squat at the end.
The Thang:
- 100 pullups
- 200 mericans
- 300 squats
The MIL F3 mix tape provided by Pandora:
- Motley Crue – Dr. Feelgood
- Asia – Heat of the Moment
- GNR – Welcome to the Jungle
- Motley Crue – Kickstart My Heart
- Journey – Separate Ways
- Outfield – Your Love
- Whitesnake – Here I Go Again
The Finale: Run back to the AO.
Mary: Low Flutter, Bridge, V-up, Box Cutter, LBC, Jason Twists, Bicycle
The Moleskine: Natty Lite is the trivia king with an assist from Hambone (Whitesnake) and Arizona (Heat of the Moment). We have filled our long term memory with useless trivial knowledge from 30+ years ago! I could not and still cannot remember all 9 songs that were played just 30 minute previous. Long term memory is filled with the things that mattered and stored in the brain as important impressions or experiences. Possibly music has a larger impact on our formative years as geeks, jocks, or mal-adjusted teens of all stripes, than we admit. Here's to Dr. Feelgood and the Jungle!
On another note, our pseudo language skills were amazing. Our high school language teachers would be rolling their eyes. 911's French was "Magifique!". Double Double's Russian, tinged with satire, was "????????????" despite Trump saying English has all the best words.
Finally, the power of suggestion was awe-inspiring as well. It's amazing how a smile (exaggeration), a wink (exaggeration), and a little word can sway the exercise selection.
Great job, men! Always an honor.
