Music #fail but Cindy beat us down

Warmorama

  • After RamRod came in hot with no time to spare, off we went to mosey around the lot for a good warmup to get the blood flowing (we don't need blood flowing enhancement drugs like Maria Shara-lostallmysponsers-pova) for what was about to come.
  • With Pearl Jam playing in the background, the suitcase speaker took it's morning dump on me this morning #bummed as I had a good playlist Q'd.
  • SSH X 25IC
  • Cotton Picker X 12IC (hamstrings needed a good stretch for today)

Thang

  • Everyone expects some Curb Crawling when I Q so today I changed it up a bit.
  • Starting at top of lot
    • Bear crawl to first grass lot divider – 10 hand release mericans X10 OYO
    • Lunge to next grass lot divider – 10 CDD OYO
    • Repeato until we get to end of lot.
    • Freddie Mercuries X 25 IC
  • Off to the woods
  • One round of Monkey Bars – too wet for much more
  • Grab Cindy (that's a Cinder block for you new guys) – she was angry this morning i think.
  • Overhead carry with presses to seating area by church.
  • Step ups whild holding CB X 10 each leg OYO
  • Dips (no CB) X 15IC
  • Repeat Step Ups with CB
  • Dips (no CB) X 10IC (no way Q was getting to 15IC)
  • Mosey with CBs to parking lot
  • Place CBs aside, sprint up to top of lot and back (heart rate is going now)
  • Mosey (a walk really) with CB back to the top of the lot.
  • And here is where the fun really began:
    • Partner up
    • Rd. 1: One partner does Louis Z's while other partner runs around entire parking lot (this is a long time BTW)
    • FlapJack
    • Rd 2: One partner does Blockees (burpees with a 30 lb CB – #beastmode) and other partner runs around lot but decreases run by only running to second to last parking lane
    • Flapjack
    • Repeato decreasing running distance each time.
    • Zero, I mean ZERO mumble chatter or even talking of any kind during this.  YHC was smoked.
  • Take blocks back
  • Mary – negative, clock got the best of us
  • Recover recover

Moleskin

  • I may be mourning the loss of my suitcase speaker if i can't get it working again!  There's hope.
  • Apparently a couple weeks ago when I Q'd Caboose had a falling out with Cindy, so he was not happy to see her again today. Hopefully she got back on his good side after today.  She makes you stronger!
  • RamRod's rucking is paying off.  He's gone beast mode. Sprinting by the pax like he's Scrappy. Of course then reality strikes at the COT when states h his age. Oh how i remember how fast i was when i was in my 20s!  Dude, seriously, you are a beast man!
  • Limburger was quiet today – must have been thinking too much about how our Badgers are going to hold up in the bracket this year. #notlookinggood
  • This was not the workout Contra was hoping for today.  Sorry man, didn't mean to have Cindy show up and try tearing your shoulder up anymore.  You have nothing to prove to any of us, you've done that time and time again.  Heal up!
  • The last part of the workout today with the Louis Z's and Blockees was exactly what Cindy ordered.  As i wrote the workout up I thought, this won't be so bad. Well i was wrong. Running around the entire lot and then having to come back for Blockees is flat our miserable. In a great way of course. YHC has been nursing a bummed knee for a couple of weeks to cardio-wise i was smoked, but afterwards, many of the Pax stated the same – that's a good thing!
  • Tommy Boy enjoyed the Step Ups with the blocks. That extra thrity pounds, as you ruckers know, makes a big difference.
  • The worst part was that with the suitcase speaker dead, the Chumbaburpees were excluded from the workout!  Had to audible, but in the end…we probably would have never made it to that point anyway cause YHC would have called an audible if they were still on the docket.  I did hear some folks saying, "I'm glad we didn't do burpees to that stupid Chumba song…"  Or Contra – "That sucked, and i had that song in my head for two weeks straight…" It really is the worst song!
  • Keep your thoughts and prayers out for Raven't mother in law who's in the hospital again.  And keep your prayers for YHC's father in law who HOPES to get clearance from his Cardiologist this Wednesday to get back to "normal" living after suffering a near fatal heart attack on Labor Day!
  • Contra took us out in flawless fashion today.  Don't forget to crash his bible study every Monday after the Sword.
  • Ping RamRod if you want to play softball.

F3 is the glue that keeps us all together, even as hard as it was to get up this morning after the clock changes. You guys crushed it today, My goal as the Q is to make your day better than it would have been if you didn't workout. Sure you'll be sore (i hope) but that will just be a reminder of the effort you put in, and the fellowship we had this morning. While I am all about "big numbers" for Pax showing up, when you get a crowd of 14, there's another level of fellowship, commradory, and accountability that comes with a group that size.  Not saying 30 guys isn't great, but it's different!  As the warmth stays, the Pax will get bigger, so in your head…be thinking to yourself, "where might I consider starting an AO and support the concept of the Starfish."  YHC did that back in Fall and it has paid dividends for many who wanted something new and different.  And even if you don't start a new AO, step up and Q…it will change your perception of a workout from that day forward!

DJ Ditka – out!
