Mustang Murph with new equipment

Event Date

Apr 29, 2019

YHC wasn't sure if he should say 4 posted or was it 5 or maybe even 6. Mater kinda counted for 2 today, but kinda counted for zero too. Why would he count for 2? Maybe some 6 bean chili that he made last night was trying to break on through to the other side and make an appearance before our very eyes.  05:29:59 and Mater rolls up saying he has the sweats and stomach/gut issues.  All PAX quickly take 2 steps away from Mater. Which he quickly says, he's not sick, just some bean chili he made last night. Then the scene from Disney's Cars comes to my mind "Do not eat the pistachio ice cream. It has turned"

Well, it's 0531 and we need to get moving.

We all make one lap around the lot and as YHC is heading out to go to CSES we head the distinctive sound of Mater's Barbie Jeep cranking up. This can't be a good sign for him, for us, or for what the QT gas station bathroom was about to experience. Man down. Mater doesn't return.

The remaining 4 continue on to attempt the Murph with new playground equipment. It doesn't take long for us to spot that whoever put this equipment together was obviously under the influence of something. Crooked posts, unlevel equipment and loose fasteners plague this the system. Of course, "I'm sure it looked good in CAD" #amiright @jeeves

Also, those monkey bars, yeah they pivot. Not sure if that's by design or not, but the result was Bertha and YHC having to do synchronized pull-ups. This proved difficult for 2 middle aged white men. By the end though, we are convinced that this should be a new Olympic sport and we are now the worlds greatest. Marker was super quiet during the entire workout, but knocked it out. Then after the workout he started talking about his daughter graduating this weekend. Spork, was being spork. Complaining the entire time about what round we are on and making accusations that YHC was lying about how far we are through the Murph. Oh, and also bragging about getting 3 times the amount of sleep as YHC got the entire weekend in just one night. But that's what we love about Spork.

In the end, we did what we did. Ran 1 mile, 100 pull-ups, 200 'mericans, 300 squats and ran another mile.

Reflection
From the beatitudes, just one verse. Matthew 5:4  which my M mentioned to me this weekend. "Blessed are those who morn, for they will be comforted" I haven't ever really thought much beyond that verse, and just assumed it meant morning the death of Jesus or perhaps the death of a loved one…but reading the amplified Bible put a new perspective on it. "Blessed [forgiven] are those who mourn [over their sins and repent], for they will be comforted [when their burden of sin is lifted]." So I guess mourning the crucifixion and death of Christ is what it's talking about, just at a more full/deeper meaning to it.
