When Master Q Shambala has family duties, he goes down the list…..then he goes down the list a little more…..then he dives deeper, calls into the minors, then delves into the farm leagues, and lines up the once useful, long forgotten, misunderstood rightie that plays in spit (on a routine basis) for a living. How far 'down the list' was he? (perspective: you are now cleaning up the semi-gelatinous mung from the very bottom of your recylcling bin) This guest Q really should not even BE in F3…..why? He was named, THEN had to be renamed….and at that a name so vile that one cannot comfortably even SAY his nickname, in mixed company, without getting a giggle out of even the most innocent M….it's that bad. That image now branded on your F3 Guest Q memory bank, the Pax set about to see what was up for this drizzly, cloudy, humid Saturday morning at The Glen. Temps neared 60.
Warm Ups- Pledge, lead by Lear, hats off, the a short Mozy to the parking lot for 'looseners' of Kick Steppers, High Knees, Butt Kickers, R/L Karaoke, evolving into a line of the near parking markers. One line-1 Merkin, 2nd line-2 Merkins, 3rd line- 3 Merkins….up to 9th line- 9 Merkins. Mozy to upper parking lot for a circle around the median and follow up…
COP-The Pax was informed that on Jan. 7th, legendary RUSH drummer Neil Peart had passed away, Tom Sawyer (then Limelight, et. al) was blasted on the bluetooth boombox, and SSH's commenced-45 IC in total, commemorating the 45 years Rush was in existance, 1974-1919. Knee to Hand touches 10, IST IC 10, CP's 10, Heel slappers 10, CDD's 10, 3.5 Merkins (one for each year Neil Peart fought glioblastoma, the disease that took his life this past Tuesday. Chief answered a critical (why 45 SSH's question in the affirmative fashion, saving some burps. The 2nd trivia question (the 3.5) was answered inappropriately by our very own London Whale, and as such a 12 (twelve) burpee penalty was assessed on the Pax. SDS 10 and 10 R/L one arm Merkins rounded out the Warm-ups in grand fashion, on to
The Thang: Grab a rock, walk to outfied fence of upper baseball field, backs to the fence. Neil Peart was the son of a store owner in a middle class neighborhood in Canada. His parents owned what would now be considered a Five and Dime. Three (3) sets EACH of 5 and 10 reps of Curls/Declines, Mil Presses/Diamonds, Skull Crushers/Wide grips. Dimes were done at the fence with the rock, 5's, up the hill via Bear Crawl, were done on or near the posts. The Pax was given a chance to lead as Brushless, Loveshack, and Frosty, gave us 'bonus' reps of Bent Over Rows, Mil Presses, and Curls IC at 10 reps each. Return rocks, mozy to far backfield fence, quad up the hill, into the woods.
THE Pendulum. 10 Burpess, down the valley 10 Squats, up hill to 2 CDD's. Less 2 Burps each time, 10 Squats are the CONSTANT, add 2 CDD's each time, plank to wait, ALL down to the valley for 20 IC Squats to gather the troops. Mozy back to the Flag for
Mary: Varioius Pax let the Mary while the Pax listened to one of Neil Peart's most famous drum solos found here watch. Leads were Mackinaw, Lear, with Low Dolly's and LBC's, anyone know the two others that preceded them?
Moleskine:
-FNG 1 is The Pope, FNG 2 is The Glove- Frosty's 2.0.
-Several of the exercises today were done in memory of one of the greatest drummers ever, Neil Peart of Rush
-Chief had asked during the Friday #outlaw to head 'into the woods'. His request was honored…..we just needed enough light!
-YHC greatly appreciates the ad hoc contributions from the Pax during the fence reps as well as the Mary. Especially, we'd like to thank Loveshack, for counting 'Fly Eagles Fly' instead of 1,2,3 for HIS cadence during his skull crusher reps.
-Twenty two (22) Pax were present at the F3RCUSA Panera Coffeeteria….possibly a record for The Glen
-YHC, fistbumping each Pax member during the COT, slightly cringed as 'RESPECT' was called out for Brushless, we all know why.
-The vast majority of this Q was audibled as a 'leg workout' was planned, in prep for ski season, but what with Santiago needing to run 13 miles on Sunday, it was determined to go easier on the legs. You're welcome!

-Rush, together for 45 years, was Neil Peart, Geddy Lee (who names their kid Geddy??), and Alex Lifeson: an intellectual rock mainstay in the 80's. We'll miss them dearly, at least Chief will:-(
-Shambala, family duties always trump Q'ing….and YHC greatly appreciates the chance to lead.
-Gents, take the reigns of this fine AO one Saturday, it's an absolute jugernaut of an AO-thanks to Big Mean for bringing it into the fold.
