The men of Fartlek didn’t know what to think when I showed up this morning. After discussing if I was lost or if I was possible banished from FKT the all agreed to allow me to join them.
5am – Standard 5k completed by Turnpike and YHC, we took the route around the PopTart and TurnCoat hood although very dark and quiet then were almost run down by Soprano on his way to crush Viking.
5:30am – Told to hold my horses we need to wait for Jorel who was stuck in traffic (lives 0.2 miles away?)
5:33am – Allowed to begin with a mosey and then warmoramma, 13 SSH to honor the 13 miles that Tammy Faye ran, some well received windmills, and then not so well received merkins
YHC grabs the reins and drove the pax up and over the hill to Gladiator with plenty of stops for pain along the way. At Gladiator we had a plan to do Monkey Humpers for the pax however we arrived and were greeted by them as their fearless Q was none other then the Nantan in waiting Cherry Bomb.
The Gladiators gave us their best with merkins and we returned by giving them our best by having Crocs lead the pax in Pigeon. After some pleasantries were exchanged we did some pull ups and moseyed back to the AO with plenty of pain along the way. Just enough time on the clock for some mary before we called it.
Overall we were just under 3 miles, a good bit of Burpees, Merkins, squats, v-ups, and some other good stuff and we are all well recovered from HH or the 10K.
Race Learnings:
- Turnpike got 2nd place in his age group in the run and he walked for a bit
- Tammy Faye crushed 13 miles then almost froze a nut off in the cryo chamber, be safe out there
- Jorel might enjoy cheering on the parkway more then running the race
- Crocs was ahead of the 1:30 pace group and then pulled up and went on cruise control from there
Thanks to Turnpike for the opportunity to lead, Till the next time,
Auto
Appreciate you leading my friend!
