4 Fearless Eskimos found no excuses to miss out on a world class workout this morning.
Disclaimer: I warned all that it was too early and too cold for a sane person to be at a workout so they were on their own their own but I would get them back to a car before they froze.
Short mosey to the planters and on the way Windmills 15, SSH 30, IST 25
At the planters: 10 Step Ups per leg, 20 Dips, 15 box jumps
Short mosey to the playground and on the way Toy Soldier 25, SSH 30, Lunges 10 per leg
At the playground we prepared for next week with a quarter Murph. 5 rounds of 5 Pullups, 10 Merkins, 15 Squats.
Mosey upto the blacktop track. Eskimo run around the track last man drops down for 5 Merkins then sprints to the front. Each time you go through drop one rep on Merkins. (I may not have been clear on the plan as Funkytown kept doing 5 Merkins.)
After two laps around the blacktop it was time to cool down with some block work. To help the Pax continue with our theme and embrace the cold instead of picking up cinder blocks everyone grabbed a 20 pound bag of ice.
Ice Bag Workout
20 Curls, 15 Overhead Press, 10 Skull crushers, 15 Chest Press, 10 Pullovers, 15 Squats.
We took a break halfway between with the first Snow Crab walk which was a crab walk with the 20 lbs bag of ice on your chest.
Zampirini the Ice bags back to the start.
Over to the big balls. 5 sets of Incline Merkin, frog hop over the big ball, Deline Merkin.
Mary – 15 LBC’s, 15 J-lo, 10 Burpees, 15 Low Flutter
Great group who joined me for a workout this morning even with so many excuses to stay in bed. The cold was expected with the car temp at 19 when we started but we kept moving so I didn’t hear any complaints. I wanted this to be everyone's coldest workout but Kosar and Amen had memories of a 12 degree day last year which took the prize. When we grabbed the bags of ice I placed the night before I was a little nervous that they didn’t feel cold at all. There was some concern the temperature had already frozen the nerves in my hands but after a few exercises the bag started to feel very cold which I suppose was a good thing. After we disbanded all meet back up at the Huntersville Starbucks to warm up with coffee and BS.
In the end we proved there are no bad days for a workout only bad Q’s.
