4 hard chargers proved the Granite Hell haters wrong and crushed burpees on Patrick Johnson. Here is their story:
Matlock arrived early, had no clue where to park, so he did what any reasonable F3er would do and just started running. Strong. LEGO made it safely down from Virginia. Dallas rolled in late but at least his shoes were on and we were off. No Fireball regulars (are there Fireball regulars anymore? AFAF) but nonetheless we were on a mission.
Someone, we won't name names (although we did on the run) stated without a doubt that Patrick Johnson was steeper than Granite Hell. Without a doubt!?! Its not. Not sure its even close. Matlock disclaimed that if it is he's not driving 25 min for that. So we did burpees at the top with the hopes of gaining some more elevation and because just running it was way too easy for the pax. The real debate is whether it is steeper than Bailey Springs which we determined it is but only if you walk Bailey Springs.
We got in ~5.5 miles with 4 ascents of Patrick Johnson. No Heely we didn't go to Pine because that was way too flat. We were already late and needed to soak in as much of that umm 5% easy grade as we could get.
F3 Isotope Christmas Party is December 2nd (Yup its a Friday) at Eleven Lakes. Cash bar and food trucks will be on-site. All it takes to get in is a donation to Operation Sweet Tooth at the door. Speaking of Operations Sweet Tooth…register for the Christina Latini Memorial 8K on Sept 17th here: https://raceroster.com/events/2022/60985/christina-latini-memorial-8k-2022
Thanks for the opportunity to Q at Fireball Dallas…or Little Finger…or both. Thanks for your dedication in not letting Popcorn kill another workout. Fireball is an Isotope staple. Thanks to the LFC Men's Ministry for the EH (Email headlock in my case) and to the pax for the constant encouragement and motivation. Lift up those who suffered injury and loss at The Bear race this weekend. Until the next time…
