Not So Soggy Concrete Wilderness

Forecast called for 100% cold November rain and Cantore’s forecast did not disappoint on this fine morning—38 degrees and heavy rain. YHC consulted with MQ The Force and called an audible to relocate from the friendly—but completely without cover–confines of Wynfield Forest Clubhouse to the even friendlier and drier confines of the Birkdale Village parking decks. All appropriate messaging in pre-blasts for change of venue and MQ pick-up of any stray Pax at Wynfield led to seven of LKN’s finest to avoid the FS and remain mostly dry, including Turnpike and Moby Dick who converged from Java.

Warm-O-Rama

THANG

Double Garage DORA (all DORA exercises are single count)

Dora #1

• P1 starts 100 Merkins, P2 bear crawls halfway to end of garage and runs remainder of lap back.

• 200 Squats / crab walks halfway end of garage and runs remainder of lap back.

• 300 LBCs / quadra-philia to end of garage, runs forward back.

Trivia #1: Pax could not correctly name the Guns-N-Roses’ album that included “November Rain” (Use Your Illusion I) and paid a 10-burpee penalty.

Wall Work

• People’s Chair x 1min with Wonderbras x 20 IC

• BTTW – 45 seconds

• People’s Chair x 1 min with Air Press x 20 IC

Trivia #2: Pax learned that on 11/15/1864 General William Sherman began his march to the sea from Atlanta, GA and could (with a hint from YHC) identify he was born in Ohio. This display of intellect earned the Pax post workout coffee courtesy of YHC.

MARY

• Low Flutter x 20 IC  / J-Lo x 10 IC / Mason Twist x 15 IC / Glute Bridge x 15 IC / Recover / Recover

MOLESKIN

• CSAUP weather without the CSAUP event. Amazed that 7 guys would get out of bed in the gloom in those conditions for an “outside” workout. Truly a testament to the power of accountability and fellowship that comes with it. YHC is confident that the Pax —with a lot of mumblechatter–would have followed YHC into the rain. Now, Hoodie and the Professor were truly CSAUP when they entered Starbucks after a 6+ mile run in the rain.

• Great work by all with both Doras completed quickly. Covered approx. 2 miles per Garmin.

• Prayers for all affected by California wildfires.

• Wilderness returns to Wynfield AO next week.

• Thanks to The Force for the privilege of allowing YHC to lead the Best AO in LKN and for being flexible with location because of conditions.

Aye!
