It was that time of month again, i.e., the last Monday, when the pax come together to honor one Lt. Michael P. Murphy by completing his eponymous workout.
With rain in the forecast on Monday morning, YHC reached out to Auto on Sunday evening to see if he had planned to post. Realizing that the rain likely meant low turnout, Auto replied in the affirmative to ensure that YHC would not Murph alone. Aye, thanks brother.
0500: Auto and YHC ran a 3 mile Standard in the drizzle, taking a detour from our usual Murph Standard route in order to avoid the greenway, which was surely flooded.
0530: We circled up back at the Jason's Deli lot, waiting for other pax. None showed, and so we took off down Birkdale Commons toward the AO.
0532: Rain picked up considerably, followed by a streak of lightning and some thunder. The two of us made an immediate U-turn and headed for our cars.
We'd planned to reconvene in one of the parking garages in Birkdale to complete a modified Murph, similar to the one that Auto, Tuffy, and YHC had performed back in August under similar circumstances. However, upon driving into Birkdale, Auto noticed that the Berean pax had convened in a different garage, and so we pulled in and joined them.
