8 brave PAX showed up to run in freezing temperatures and Q actually showed up on time. Maybe he should Q more to make sure he arrives on time and not late anymore :-).
Decided to take it up a notch and run 6 easy miles instead of the usual 5. Definitely got comments comparing this to Odyssey, but they don’t have the dollar coffee we get to enjoy every week.
5:30 rolls around and Popcorn rolls in from a standard and MH runs over from his apartment to join in on the fun.
Q doesn’t have twitter anymore so unable to preblast the route anymore which worked out well to make sure everyone stayed together as much as possible. That was successful until mile 4 when we hit the greenway and the fast runners took off knowing the rest of the route.
Finished back at Lowes and watch said we were short about 1/4 mile. Funny to watch everyone run around the lot a few more times to make sure we got our six miles, but we got them in. Enron wanted more so he peeled off afterwards to get four more in. What a beast.
Speaking of beasts:
- The force said he joined us because he was trying to get in shape?!?! He crushed it today
- SAC joined after being sick for a few weeks and looks he barely missed a beat
- Gambini is getting fast. Thought I could keep up with him before, not anymore!
- Mr Holland was there, but we couldn’t tell because he was so far ahead of us all.
- If you want fun interesting random topics to talk about while running, you should run with popcorn. Always amazed at some of our conversations while running
- Already told you Enron was a beast. Apparently six wasn’t enough and needed four more. I’ll be like him one day when i grow up.
- I remember last year when Stray and I first started showing up for CandyShop and we had to take multiple breaks during the run especially on the hills. Those days are long gone, and Stray finished up front with the fast guys! Dudes killing it and great to see how much he’s improved since last year!
COT:
- There’s alot of sickness going around and we need to keep each other in prayer and checking in on each other. As my mother in law says, “wash your hands and say your prayers, because Jesus and germs are everywhere!”
- Prayers for Stray and his wife as they await results from some exams that they wouldn’t be anxious, but have peace in the waiting.
Announcements:
- Polar Bear coming up on the 11th from 6:30-8:30
- Hope House gala on the 11th as well – volunteers still needed
Thanks for letting me Q Enron. That was fun. Let’s do another six miler soon!
