Yesterday afternoon the Odyssey MQ sounded the horn on the well-known social networking site known as “X” that YHC would be making a celebrity guest appearance as the Q for Odyssey. The real question was why YHC? Or maybe even was YHC asked or properly courted to fulfill such request? Answer: No. I found out the same time everyone else did. Since Q’s don’t get paid cash anymore for their services, my Q’s are far and few between. So, there could be only one reason the MQ would send out the bat signal of John Bender from Breakfast Club fist pumping on the football field….it was time to make Odyssey great again.
Now don’t get me wrong, MQ Hoodie knew exactly what he was doing. I knew exactly what he was doing. He was stirring the pot to get excitement back at Odyssey. When the F3 isotope AO attendance report was published last week, it was terrible to see that Odyssey was only averaging 2.4 PAX in Q4 last year. This was a problem with our F3 Isotope Nantan, best known as The Cherry Bomb. Sir Bomb had a tough decision to make but knew what he had to do. He called Hoodie yesterday and told him he was shutting down what used to be the best Friday fun run workout Odyssey. Hoodie pleaded and begged him to give him one more opportunity to get number up. Our honorable and prestigious Nantan decided to give Hoodie one more opportunity but with one condition, Odyssey had to have more than 10 PAX attend. Hoodie wiped his watering eyes and set out to put a plan together to make Odyssey great again!
The Actual Tang:
- Run 4-5 miles
- The route was undisclosed
- Actual Route: We ran around the parking lot in circles for 4-5 miles like psychopaths
- Mary
- COT
- BOM
The Moleskin:
When YHC showed up in the parking lot Hoodie was nervously pacing, longing that 10 PAX would be there to keep his MQ dreams alive. I did my best to keep him calm as I softly whispered in his ear, “it’s ok, I am here, they will come”. Car after car flooding into the parking lot. The Odyssey parking lot had not seen this type of traffic in years! As the MQ was smiling from ear to ear the time was 5:30 and off we went. There was lots of mumble chatter about YHC being there. Lots of mumble chatter about what type of antics I would bring to a low-key Friday fun run. Everyone jockeyed into position as we set out across the parking lot hoping to get a front seat view of the events that were expected to transpire. Around the parking lot we went. Then around the parking lot we went again. Then around the parking lot we went again. Then around the parking lot we went again. Now mumble chatter is at an all time high. Some PAX still confused why we were still in the parking lot? Some are asking if the warmup is done now? Other PAX like shrooms and Pop Tart were starting to become very agitated that we were 15 mins in and still doing circles in the parking lot. This was now an experiment for YHC! How can I keep them circling this parking lot for 30 more minutes!? At this point I was expecting a munity to form. I wanted to see and feel the expected mutiny build. As the PAX was watching me to see if I had any plans to stop this insanity of circles around the parking lot, I was watching the PAX to see who was going to attempt to take control! One PAX member Pop Tart (redacted) couldn’t take the circles anymore, he went for it. He decided to stay straight at the end of the parking lot, attempted to run to freedom (better known as Birkdale Commons Parkway) but wait…. No one went with him. He quickly turned back and rejoined our crew. Phew that was close, could have gotten bad for YHC. But he wasn’t done! He was able to lure 3 more PAX to go with him and when they got back down to the end of the parking lot they left us! Was this mini mutiny a rebellion against YHC and Q authority in general or was it their own mental revolt because they couldn’t stand to do any more running in the same parking lot….
The remaining PAX (71.428571 % of the original PAX) continued to circle the lot. Our group aura became stronger and there was a feeling of being united and proud to have stayed to conquer the brilliantly dumb route YHC was doing! We continued to circle the lot with high energy and comradery. About 10 mins later the four defectors came back into the parking lot and joined back up with our PAX to finish the workout. Of course, we welcomed them back with open arm, as they profusely apologized for their mental miscalculation of judgment.
The PAX was whole again as we finished out our 4.5-5 miles around the parking lot. All was right again in the Odyssey parking lot. 14 men did what they needed to this morning to keep Hoodies hopes and dreams alive! Show up next Friday to keep Odyssey alive!
Full Naked Man Moleskin
- Dingo was present today but got his work in prior to our launch! Well done Dingo
- Shout out to the shake weight boys for running circles today.
- Warm morning, surprised no one got their tops off for the boys. (Do Ho would have)
- Ducky’s car lot is having a sale on all Hyundai Palisades and Kia Tellurides. If your in the market for something new hit him up he knows all the ins and outs to these vehicles.
- Matlock Rode his Pelton in the parking lot the whole time while we ran. I held his watch for him so he could make sure he stays atop the weekly leaderboard.
- COOOOOTER was there! He knows how to save the day. Great seeing Coot this morning. I am sorry you had to stay in a parking lot the whole time on your first run back since October.
- Big shout out to Auto. You were even money to be the leader of the munity. Not only were you not the leader you didn’t leave us. As a thank you I decided to write you a short poem:
In a world of hustle and rush,
There’s a man named Auto, a gentle hush.
With a heart so kind, a spirit light,
He brightens the day, a beacon bright.
His smile, a sunbeam in the gray,
Guiding others along the way.
A helping hand, a listening ear,
Auto’s compassion, crystal clear.
In deeds so humble, love does bloom,
A garden of kindness in life’s vast room.
With every gesture, a warmth so true,
Nice man named Auto, we cherish you.
Hoodie, thank you for giving me the keys. Keep up the great work.
