9 pax, 8 of which were already sweaty, showed up to Robbins Park at 0530 for today’s epic Gaga beatdown.  1 of the 8 that had run a 3 mile standard decided it would be too hard so he left – see ya, Pop Tart.

The pax were instructed to run fartleks – 1 mile-ish warm up, 6 mins easy to medium pace then 1 minute surge to 15-20 seconds faster.  We were to run up Catawba to Nantz, then to the end of Nantz and back to Robbins Park.  The fast guys just took off so I can’t personally attest to whether or not they did anything but run, however I am pretty sure they just ran without regard to adjusting pace per the prescribed method.  Whatevs – they still got in close to 5 miles.  Those that stayed behind participated in the fartlek and it was a beautiful sight to behold – the increase in performance they will see will be significant.

We ended this superb training day with 5ish minutes of Mary – some Flutters, Low Dolly, and 100s.  Jolly tried to lead some weird scissor/cross legged exercise but we were too tired and decided to just watch the absolutely pointless movements.

Don Ho noted that the last time I Qd I ran this exact same workout.  Well, I promised different and I’m pretty sure that by avoiding Robbins Park, Birkdale, and the greenway that I delivered.

For any future Gaga Qs please note that the standard isn’t a standard anymore, it is actually just the workout and they end around 6.  /shrug

Thanks for letting me take the Q, Don Ho.  (Rolls eyes and winks)
