It was a rainy morning and as promised we stayed under cover! It was under cover in the birkdale village garage but was not totally dry as the garage leaked in many spots but still better than out in the rain with no cover! We did have to remain quiet to not disturb any of the apartment tenants above.
Most PAX parked under cover but as we were getting started Airstream thought it would be a good idea to check the normal starting point outside at Starbucks so we sent him out in the rain alone to round up some wet PAX, he found Soprano and Jersy Boy out there in the rain.
As I mentioned in my preblast, it would be a back friendly workout since my back was still not 100% recovered. With that said it was an upper body beatdown starting at the warm up and all the way to the end! Warm up included many shoulder exercises, meracin (spelling?) night club, seal claps, many many arm circles, merkins. Walked to the wall for a few rounds of praying mantis and calf raises. The rest of the workout was a various upper body resistance band exercises. I am not including the names of the exercises because I am still unsure of some of the names. As I called/demonstrated the exercises I had to defer the actual name to the professional and owner of the bands: Airstream. PAX continued with JUST ASK Airstream! As the PAX called BS on all of the upper body and no legs, I said it is like back in the day at the gym when we all worked a muscle or 2 rather than full body. There were many comments saying that is just the short Italian workout. Soprano, Stromboli and I were offended, just kidding. Actually, Strom was not included in the ridicule since he is a rare tall Italian. Yes, we did many curls!!!! Shaken continued to complain about needing to do 100 squats so I did call slow squats. The PAX thought I was going to 100 but I only called 50! Goat started doing his own band exercises so I added one of his exercises: upright rows. It was tough keeping Jersey quiet but he did great, he was even quiet at namarama, as you can hear in the video! Hippie, Possum and Thug as always quiet and strong! No Mary since we did not want to sit and get wet so we ended with some stretches. Great coffeteria conversations as always. Some of us got real ceramic coffee cups (more environmentally friendly), led by Hippie. I did not add this to the prayer intentions that day but my father in law just passed away yesterday 12/11, please prayer for him and especially my wife, Tami during this difficult time. Thank you all for coming out in the rainy weather, I really appreciate that each and everyone of you truly keep me accountable for my fitness and faith. I have missed being out with you guys everyday since my back injury and cannot wait to be out everyday again soon!
It was a fine morning and those bands hit hard ! Great Q Omega – and sorry to hear about the loss of your father in law. Prayers lifted for your family.
Hey buddy sorry to hear about Tami’s Dad!! Thoughts and prayers for you, Tami and the entire family
