Options for pain, mandatory sweat soak

16 men ran all, part, or in the general vacinity of Half-Life this week.  Read below for the details of this option filled workout.

4:45A – Lego and HB set out on an out and back headed southeast on Bailey Road

5:00A – Meet up with 5 for the HL #Standard through the 55+ community for 30 min.  Launched with 3 others heading in a different direction (Fireball extended version?)

5:30A – Found 6 more mulling about and started running with them toward the Home Depot greenway.

All of the above options were exercised at Easy pace except for the 5:30 – 6:15 session which included 30 second pickups (5k pace).  The instruction was to do 10 total and start each pickup every 0.5 miles.  It turned out that only 8 to 9 were possible on the given route.  Whatever number you got, excellent.

Moleskine:

– There could have been one or two PAX that arrived late or perhaps left early.  The number 16 seems to be constant, but there was some confusion in COT as to who was there and who wasn't.  We will leave it at that…

– With this many start times and parallel workouts going on, it resembled herding cats at times.  However, it worked, everyone pushed themselves, and looked like they jumped in a pool at the end.  That is all that really matters.

– Future weeks we will follow a similar format to offer options for more miles for those training for half/full marathons while also having speed work options during the 5:30 – 6:15 timeslot for those targetting 5k/10k races.
