Great seeing RJ, or as the PAX know him, Barbarino. RJ commutes to the Carowinds area each day as a school counselor. Homelessness is a real issue in his school. Awesome to have him jump in the group. We welcomed FNJ Brandyn who lives across the street from the clubhouse. 5 kids. Army guy. Mentioned that today is day one of 5 years off of working out. He is going to be a badass, trust me. T Claps to Marshall who has been posting 5 days a week at the Green. We met this week in the hood and he is a great addition to help build our community in Summers Walk. Nice work Chicken Noodle and Spark Nut, two Summers Walk OG's who always show up and bring life to the 45 minutes.
Closed out by praying for the men of Summers Walk who may be struggling in their relationships, their jobs and with their health. Prayed that they would experience a rush of grace and peace and of course, join us in the gloom.
More to come on this, but Spark Nut owns Christian Brothers on Harris & Poplar Tent. This is where UYC performs his regularly scheduled maintenance. On October 13th, they will perform free oil changes for single moms and widows. They hope to knock out 67 of these that day. More info seeking volunteers and of course connecting us with women in need as that date nears.
