18 of Lake Norman's finest arrived in front of Harris Teeter for the first PAINinsula of February. There may have been a Standard run beforehand, but the Q did not participate so someone else will need to add some additional color commentary. It was cold (around 30 degrees) so we moseyed to the quad and did a series of warm-up exercises:
SSH x 25
Imperial Storm Troopers x 15
Carrot Pullers x 15
Windmills x 15
Toy Soldiers x 15
Then onto the quad where we did an exercise stack at each corner in cadence:
Corner 1:
Low Flutter x 5
Corner 2:
Low Flutter x 5
At this moment, for some reason, some sort of mutiny was developing, but quickly stopped with the addition of the Low Slow Squat x 5
Corner 3:
Low Flutter x 5
Low Slow Squat x 5
Merkins x 5
Corner 4:
Low Flutter x 5
Low Slow Squat x 5
Merkins x 5
SSH x 5
Repeato adding 5 to each count
Repeato adding 5 to each count again. It should be noted that the final 15 count of Merkins was split into a set of 10 and then a set of 5, after the SSH. If you can't do it, don't Q it.
1 full lap around the quad and then we worked the quad backwards with all exercises at each corner x10, finishing off that segment with an Airborne Mind-bender.
(At some point Cobra Kai arrived with his 8 week old Labradoodle, and then at some point that Labradoodle attacked the Q's head while he was calling out the Low Flutter cadence. Good times.)
A quick mosey to the breezeway where we did:
Dips x 15
Step-Ups 10 OYO
People's Chair with Air Press
Incline Merkin x 5
Decline Merkin x 5
Back to the launch pad for some Freddy Mercury, Low Dolly, Crunchy Frog (thanks Stromboli), and a bit of Rosalita (thanks Outlaw).
We wrapped up with some prayer requests for certain mountain climbers and Hollywood (that's me) prayed us out.
Good coffeteria chatter afterwards and Cobra Kai's labradoodle is loved by everyone.
Book Club tomorrow night at Outlaw's house. 7pm to discuss "The Operator" by Robert O'Neill.
Thanks for the opportunity to lead Outlaw. Getting back on track for 100/12!
See you in the gloom!
