Partner work is the best work

No downed trees, power lines or barns could keep 16 of LKNs finest away from the place they call Arnie's Army.  Here is their story:

0500:

tagless and auto set out for a quick jaunt around birkdale in something called #thestandard

0508

YHC woke up and realized he was not going to make it to said #thestandard

0529

3 men awaited

0531

13 others came in hot

0531.5

we ran around in circles till everybody got out of their cars and decided to attack the day

circled up on the field for warm-o-rama

SSH x 17 (IC)

cotton picker x 17 (IC)

IST x 17 (IC)

Now we lined up at one end of the field, and did 10 1/4 turn jump squats.  A 1/4 turn jump squat is where you put your hands on the ground, jump up and turn a quarter or 25% or 1/4th of the way around.  Some would call it 90 degrees.  This was very confusing for the Pax as they got hung up with putting their hands on wet grass (hey Jenny)  The avoidance of things that may be less than comfortable seems to be an issue with this group (this becomes a theme).

after doing 10, we run to the middle of the field and do 10 more, then we run back to the start and do 10 more, then we run to the end and do 10 more (this becomes a theme).  After a while we vary it up and run backwards, because running normal would be dumb.  We also did our 1/4 turn jump squats backwards…its all about balance.

mosey to the bridge – hey, its hippie

Peoples chair x something

bear crawl under planking pax – hey, its the force!

repeato x 2

mosey to the hill

then YHC got lost because i haven't been here in many moons so i took us up a cart path, Auto was quick to correct.

Then we found a big hill

so we walked up it backward while our partners (this becomes a theme) did 100 WWII sit ups

and when we came down the hill we did lunges, but we did them backwards because frontwards would be dumb.

Then we mosey back to the bridge, I gave Ninja Turtle a simple question, he response led me to believe he wanted to do crab walks under a planking Pax…so we did.

Then we did Duck walks, thus bringing the head closer to the Pax undercarrige

Then we wrapped that phase up with a little bear crawl…this is simply doing a crawl bear backwards.

we planked and waited, then we moseyed (hippie ran fast) back to the field.

I gave Gypsy a simple question, his response led me to believe he wanted to do prison squats, so we went to the fence.  And then it got weird (this became a theme).  Everybody asked me if I was serious….like this is the dumbest things we've ever done…so we jumped on each others backs and did 10 prison squats each while holding on the fence for dear life.  Thats a prison squat right?

Then we headed over to the field, where we kept our partners and did a little partner carrying  back and forth, then we all turned into Olinemen and did some partner pushing…hands inside always wins by the way.

And finally we tackled the inverted partner presses.  Some called it a decline merkin, those people are wrong…it is an inverted partner press and don't you forget it!

aaaaaaaaand mary

here we kept with the weird and partner themes and had some time for pillow talk.

Then Hippie led some J-Lo

and at this point Auto has had enough.  He made us do a rediculous amount of merkins, during mary no less.  Then tried to hand it off to snake eyes to finish.  His efforts were quickly recognized as terrorism and squashed!  Then YHC handed it off to snake eyes, because if Snake Eyes is present, thats how you end the workout :-)….The end

Great to see some new faces, welcome FNG1 (actually Brownbag) & FNG 2 (actually Sandbag from Dilworth).  LKN 2, Metro 0 😉

I thought I would see some Goat Busters out there this morning, but apparently they have parted ways with Auto. Fortunatly for Auto, he has a team that is ready and willing to accept his talents and support him.  Welcome home…bring Don Ho with you.

Lots of talk this morning that may or may not have happened, if you haven't met Brownbag, you should.  He is going to fit in well here.

Operation Sweet Tooth 8k is this Saturday…if you are interested in running, walking, virtually running or any of the like, please let us know…we have a couple free spots.

Thanks to Auto for inviting me to take the lead at this great AO and I appreciate his leadership of the Pax here.  Thanks also to Black Eyed Pea, who gave me the gift of joining these fine men in their quest against mediocrity!  It has been an amazing ride and I look forward to being back out tomorrow to get better with the Pax.  Do somebody a favor and go EH your EHer, there are alot of guys out there that just need one little push to make it out of bed in the morning, be that blessing for them.

Argh!
