With Tammy Faye, Toby, Tuffy and YHC doing the 75 “HARD” and on day 9 of accountability, YHC knew for sure that they would each show, but YHC felt just as sure no one else would. Heavy rain, high winds in the fcst, schools closed and the gloom after the national championship all made for perfectly imperfect conditions for no pax to want to post. T-claps to Amen for proving me wrong! Also shout-out to the pax at Fallout – think they had 6 pax with Crocs at the Q (and the cover there isn’t as good as Gladiator).
Well 5 pax including the Q showed and followed instructions from the PB – we had more KBs and weights than we could use, not to mention one big, long, thick, black… rope which each man enjoyed wrapping his hands around during the thang.
Brief, usual warm-o-rama.
The Thang:
YHC would steal the “Parking Lot of Pain” concept from Amen (and would have to admit it to the pax when Amen showed up) by using each column of the long covered walkway to St Marks to assign rep counts. 1st column = 1 rep, 2nd column = 2 reps, etc. Seemingly simple, but it took Tuffy about 6 columns to fully understand… There were 16 columns from one end to the other, the YHC arrived with a feeling of accommodation for the pax this AM, so when around column 10 of the first set the pax was moaning, YHC audibled and we only went to column 12. Still an awful lotta reps.
Exercises with column-counting included: Curls, Skull Crushers, Squats, Lawn Mowers, McCalf-raises.
After 6 columns the pax would reach an open area where we’d stop and 1 pax would call a non-KB exercise. We’d do that, then resume with column 7-12. Exercises called were Big Baby Crunch, Merkins, J-Lo (guess who), Carolina Dry Docks and Jump-Squats.
When all pax reached the 12th column and finished all their reps, 1 pax would take hold of the big, long, thick, black… rope. He’d work that thang while the other 4 pax ran up the slight covered hill to the start and back. Then all pax would zampirini their KBs back to the start at column 1 and prepare for the next exercise.
In the end, we had time for 5 full sets meaning each pax got to call an exercise after column 6, each pax got to play with YHC’s big, long, thick, black… rope and each pax got to call a Mary exercise in the final 6ish mins. Then we’d circle up, pack up and call it a morning.
Moleskine:
Good to have some cover this AM, and admittedly we did name-o-rama out in the drizzle at the end to post on ‘X’ just so it would look like we’d battled the elements.
This BB is way better than that of Crocs’ from Fallout today. Just sayin’.
Isotope looks forward to welcoming back Ponch to the gloom. New work sched should allow him to post some each week going forward. Still a few days he cannot, but Amen has the 6 on those days and they’ll do a mosey together at 4AM. Hit them up if you wish to join (ya know – in case you’re busy at 5:30AM and still want to post).
Many prayers up for the sick, the healing (all kinds of healing), for those who serve us and our communities, etc.
Stick with those resolutions and goals, fellas. Allow your pax to hold you accountable. Talk it up at AOs and you’ll quickly realize you’re not alone in your efforts and it’s far more “fun” pushing toward goals with others by your side.
Speaking of goals – sign up to Q. Pretty much every AO needs Qs and ALL pax need Qs. There’s no better way to start your day so sign up. And there’s no quicker way to bring down an AO than a lack of Qs so let’s not let that happen in 2024.
