Proceedings:

  • Select Replacement Board member:

Vote to nominate replacement board member to replace Jolly Roger: 10 names were reviewed, Two Buck Chuck was nominated and has accepted this two-year role

Discussed Each LKN Officer and based on tenure (all roles are a 2 year leadership role) the following were discussed:

  • LKN Weekly Communications:

Bagboy is working with Gnarly Goat for a roughly 6 month stint to provide weekly content summary similar to what Davidson and Race City does through email by covering key workouts for the week (Virgin Q’s, Birthday Q’s, etc.) as well as upcoming CSAUP activities.  This would be in website form, most likely on the Jerky page with an accompanying “backblast” link to get to the content

  • 2018 Project Tenfold Update: — Jedi:

Preblast went live July 4th:  nothing immediate to add.  If 2-3 entries submitted, it will be reviewed and voted on during Q4 BoD meeting, if 5+ entries submitted, will be reviewed voted on during the 2018 Christmas party.  Link to preblast included here:

  • 2018 Basin Run Relay (Pickle) Update:

The website is now open.

Based on feedback, route has had modified a bit to improve safety: course updates coming soon.

Field capacity unlimited this year.

Need for more F3 volunteers this year.

Pierogi will send out information on monthly meetings with Jones Racing.

This is the premiere F3 LKN fundraiser and will fund 2019 Project Tenfold as well as other philanthropic activities – plan to race or volunteer.  Link to the preblast is included here:

  • 2018 Christmas Party Update:

This year, the party is moving from St. Marks to Kadi Fit and will be held on Saturday, 12/1.   Along with the venue change, this will be approximately a $50/couple event catered by Harvey’s and will have a capacity limit which is still to be determined.  Freepass and Turncoat are leading this event and will provide detailed information via an official Preblast in the next week or two.

  • Operation Headlock Update:

Confirmed 10 FNGs and 31 Kotters overall.  By sub-region:

  • Mooresville: 4, 3: total = 14

  • Huntersville/Cornelius: 5, 10: total = 10

  • Davidson: 1, 0: total = 4

  • Denver: 0, 1: total = 1

  • Mt. Island Lake: 0, 0: total = 0

It is not easy to get the newly named FNG to the website.  The discussion of a form email that explained everything that is currently “word of mouth” such as what is the password to create an id (fretwell) and how to get signed up on the F3 LKN Slack channel too.

  • Annual Report

When the F3 LKN 501c3 status is finalized, one of the yearly requirements will be to publish an Annual Report.  Will open this development up to the PAX to see if anyone is interested is leading this effort.

  • Feedback on F3 43 Feet Leadership podcast/F3 Roundtable Podcast:

Ramrod has listened to both and likes the content.  No major change feedback identified.

  • What’s Excelling/Not Excelling (I’m sorry, drawing a blank on what we discussed last night)

Race City: Race City is growing.  Currently have only one venue per day and are often getting 20+ PAX in attendance.  Have unsuccessfully tried to break off to a second location but at least at the current levels the PAX enjoys staying together.  It’s recognized that at some point it will be time to try again.

Huntersville/Cornelius: Continue to market events and locations that align to our mission as well as continue to encourage men to EH – most of the EH’ing is coming from a handful of guys.  Also work to find ways to bring new life to certain AOs that have grown stale.

Davidson: Communications from Holiday via email is working well.  Single AO for all workouts as a gathering place also working well.  PAX to feels empowered to start new things: Pain Lab, Sweat Shop, Revolt, cycling, etc.  Challenges include only partial adoption of Slack leading to several small groups without a single place for Davidson to communicate.  3rd F is still in its infancy.

Other business:

  • F3 LKN 501c3 status: checking on the status

  • Discussed F3 LKN Participation in North Mecklenburg Christmas Parade

  • Discussed identifying 2018 LKN BRR donation recipient being a local men’s affiliation vs a national men’s affiliation – needs further board discussion

  • Discussed $100-$150 gift card to the winner operation headlock – needs further board discussion
