Que Onda Never Disappoints

FNG1 = Wegmans (F3 Fort Mill)

Nearly a week late, finally firing off a backblast to memorialize last week's uptown #TacoTuesday, which took place at one of the pax's favorite spots, Que Onda (333 W. Trade St).

Que Onda never disappoints, largely because of its reliable service, tasty array of tacos, and free chips/salsa.  Oh yes, and of course, the Nacho Cheese of Death™.  Que Onda always brings the numbers, and this week was no different.  Ramrod preblasted an early (1145am) start, and YHC hoofed it across uptown to make it on time, arriving to find a table near the back wall with several pax already seated and ready to kill some chips, which arrived contemporaneously.

Within minutes, the table was full – overpacked, really – and Mortimer arrived to find literally no room to pull up another chair, so the pax quickly formed an annex table, which would not be the first time we have done this at Que Onda.  The long high top table was apparently reserved for another group.

The service was, as usual, on point, and YHC did not have time to pull up past reviews to help determine what YHC should order, but no worries – it's all good at Que Onda.  Ended up going with 2 x ground beef and 1 x carnitas.  Still not sure whether the sauce distribution is 100% random or depends on one's order, but whatever the case, YHC also ended up with a Nacho Cheese of Death™.  I generously slathered it all over the 3 tacos, and went to town.  Forehead sweat swiftly followed.  Afternoon work would have been a struggle but for several cups of coffee.

In sum, it was another great #TacoTuesday – a solid turnout, and also featured the triumphant return of the Gnarliest of Goats.  Mona Lisa crushed his usual 8 tacos.  #StillTheChamp

Will the pax venture outside the uptown perimeter next week?  Maybe a return trip to Hot Taco?  #S2K

Aye,
