Race City SpearHead Training – How Bob Marley lost his big toe

Event Date

Feb 02, 2018

4 PAX showed to knock out the Burpee PT test. One of the many 'time-filling' fun exercises the Cadre will throw in at hour 15 after heavy logs, coupons, welcome party, standard PT test. Time to GYMR.  In talking with experienced Heavy Ruckers the unanimous feedback was that you want to be able to perform this to the standard, which means you will need to practice and perform it several times.  This seems to be the theme for everything a Heavy throws at you, with very little time to get up to speed.

No Admin/Gear Check- got right to it.

The PT Test:

100 Burpees

1 mile run

50 burpees

1 mile run

32 minute time hack

The PAX performed very well meeting the time hack, YHC needs to GMMR and my legs were heavy from SH training in Huntersville the day before, but excuses are easier than results.

That left us about 20 minutes which I had planned the Devils Mile, but Omaha was called and we finished with a Ruck workout on the baseball diamond

Bear Crawl to the pitchers mound

Crawl Bear back to homeplate

Lunge walk to second from homeplate, reverse lunge back to homeplate

Lunge walk Ruck OH to first base

Drop Ruck- partner carries, piggy back, first to second, switch second to third, switch third to homeplate. Bear Crawl to first base.

Farmers carries around the diamond with Ruck as a team

PAX then on their back, one PAX counted down from 60 while the other three low flutter kicked, next PAX counted down from 45 while the others low flutter, so on so forth in 15 second increments. Ruck was always up.

The mumble chatter was mostly about lunge walks and Cupcake informed us that Bob Marley lost his big toe, just fell off because he liked to play soccer and injured it and wouldn't let the doctors cut it off.  A random nugget of knowledge to help distract from the Suck.

Aye.
