Ramping up at Ludicrous Speed

Event Date

Oct 27, 2021

Tagged as many Pax in the #PB Tweet as the max characters would allow.  Only had 4 Pax today but that was enough for a great workout nonetheless.  We wanted to build on last week's 400 meter repeats so here is what went down:

WARM-O-RAMA:

  • 1 slow lap around the track, explaining the workout.

The Thing:

  • 800 meters at a slightly brisker pace, 400 meter recovery at a much slower pace
  • Repeato 3 more times, getting slighty faster each time.  800 meter times were according to Garmin:
    • 4:08, 4:06, 3:48, and 3:46
  • After the last 800 we cooled down with 2 slow laps around the track, then moseyed to my car for Mary.

Total distance was 3.61 miles according to Strava.

Mary:

  • Left / Right quad stretch x 25 seconds each
  • Hamstring stretch x 25 seconds
  • Butterfly stretch (believe more experienced "stretchers" would call it the cobbler stretch) x 30 seconds
  • Knee to chest on back, then straight leg stretch in the air left then right; all for roughly 20 seconds each
  • Calf stretches against my car x 25 seconds each leg

Recover, recover.

Moleskin:

  1. We prayed for our friend Freedom for a speedy recovery.
  2. Early voting for Huntersville local elections continues through Saturday.  Gambini is known to the rest of the world as Eric Rowell and he is running for Town Board.  Good luck bud we're rooting for you.  Also strong work today, you were out in front and your cross country background showed.
  3. Calypso is coming off back to back relay races and looking fit!  And make it 4 relay races for the year, which is a strong showing.  Nice work today.
  4. TBone is prepping for the Myrtle Beach Marathon in 2022 which he signed up for circa 2019.  This is definitely going to be the year you don't defer it brother!
  5. TBone dubbed Ludicrous Speed as the "Slow Half Life".  Well you know what, I think we can all push each other to get faster on the West Side and if Black Eyed Pea will have me back to lead; I'd be happy to be a part of that.

Great work gents.
