The AES today was early, but the posting pax will have to judge whether there was anything advanced about it. YHC arrived a few minutes early to a greeting from Special Sauce, who immediately took off running the other direction. I learned later over coffee that he wasn’t avoiding my Q. After thinking it would be just Genghis and I, several others arrived as we started.
The Thang:
After sufficient warmup at the green (SSH, tin soldier, IST, arm circles and mountain climbers) and a set of merkins, we headed over to DUMC and grabbed pavers. PAX were perhaps thrown off about by the instructions for walking curls and overhead presses in cadence as we moved over to the incline part of the lot. They seemed to not like it, but we then completed three sets of bear crawl with pushing the paver up and down the incline with squats and Mary together at the top and bottom. The comment that pushing the paver was easier when wet was greeted with the expected response.
We then left the pavers behind, moseyed over to the Goodrum Street Hill and YHC gave instructions. At this point, the PAX protested to the number of burpees and I shamefully relented and reduced the number. However, I would assign burpee punishment later. Ladder up and down Goodrum x 3 with burpees at the bottom and squats at the top.
Mosey back to our pavers, walking curls and presses over to the steps. Calf and soleus raises on the steps followed by punishment burpees. Quick 3 sets of 8 each curls, skull crushers and bent over row, then “put em up.”
Back to the green just in time to finish.
