Reclaiming Our Pre-Halloween Physique

YHC noticed a week ago that the November calendar was wide open at Arnie's Army, so I grabbed the Q for this morning, and Lego quickly grabbed next week, both to help support Tuffy and to give us a few more workouts in preparation for Chad 1000x, which is happening in just 10 days – on 11//11 at Dragon Slayer at 5am.

I feared that late nights and Halloween hangovers would mean I'd be working out alone, but was pleasantly surprised to be joined by six other pax and Arnie's stalwarts, ready to work off their candy indulgences (or perhaps just ready to work…. I don't really know if they indulged like YHC did).

0500: Auto, Lego, and YHC ran a 3 mile standard.  We passed an El Camino parked in front of a house while on our way back to the AO, wherein some guy was just napping, it appeared.

0530: Multiple laps around the parking lot, which predictably drew an "awful lot of running" comment.

Circle up, disclaimer (sort of).

WARM-O-RAMA:

  • SSH x 25 IC
  • IST x 10 IC
  • Toy Soldier x 10 IC
  • Merican x 10 IC
  • Moroccan Nightclub x 25 IC (at Auto's request)

THANG:

Grab blocks and return to parking lot.

30 secs AMRAP of each of the following with no rest between:

  • Block curls
  • Block squats
  • Block OH press
  • Block skullcrushers

Brief rest, then repeato above.  And then repeato again.

Blocks down, mosey to benches.

30 secs AMRAP of each of the following with no rest between:

  • Step up left leg
  • Step up right leg
  • Dips
  • Touch that butt
  • Decline merican

Brief rest, then repeato above.  And then repeato again.

Mosey back to blocks.  Partner up.

Same 4 block exercises as before, but partner 1 runs a short lap around parking lot while partner 2 does AMRAP exercise, then flip-flop.  Continue until both partners have done all exercises.

Blocks back, and mosey back to benches.  Find your partner.

Same bench exercises as above, but partner 1 runs to bushes near blocks while partner 2 does AMRAP exercise, then flip-flop.  Continue until both partners have done all exercises.  NOTE: we skipped the decline merican in favor of Mary.

MARY:

  • Low flutter x 20 IC
  • Mason twist x 20 IC

Recover, recover.

MOLESKIN:

  • Thanks to the pax for showing up on the morning after Halloween to support YHC and this AO, and to push one another.
  • Felt like a November morning.  A little chiller (I thought) than it was just last night.  YHC broke out the beanie for the first time.
  • Thanks to Auto for grabbing his phone and pulling up a 30 sec timer app.  It saved me from having to look at my watch over and over.
  • As noted above, Chad 1000x is right around the corner.  Hope to see a bunch of pax there so we can all gut it out together.
  • Police car pulled into the lot while we were doing our block work and briefly had his lights on, but after realizing we were just a bunch of pax working out at 5:30am, turned around and pulled back out of the lot.  Wonder if he was looking for an El Camino?
