After the Christina Latini 8K Sat, the BRR recently and many still in training for the Bourbon Chase, YHC felt it would be prudent to offer a 2 mile Standard prior to a no-running workkout at the Sword. Everyone else felt it would be prudent if YHC ran the standard sadclown solo-style then show up for a non-running workout. It worked out in their favor.
So YHC Finished a record pace 2 mile Standard (slowest ever) and awaited the 8 other pax to roll in by 0530. Then Rodeo rolled in mid-warmorama. Here's how the recovery played out:
Warm-o-rama: Quadrophelia mosey straight up the parking lot about 2/3 to the top, then some karoke both ways, stop and circle up at the top. SSHs, ISTs, Long snappers, windmills (TN style) and Moraccan Night Clubs.
10 pull-ups each. 10 Slow, deep squats.
7 pull-ups each, 10 Monkey Humpers
5 pull-ups each, 22 Christian McCalf-raises
10 chin-ups, 10 Slow, deep squats
7 chin-ups, 10 Monkey Humpers
5 chin-ups, 22 Christian McCalf-raises
Walk down one row of the parking lot for 10 merkins in cadence.
Another row, 10 wide-grip Crucifix Merkins
Another row, 10 Diamond Merkins
Now we're back at the bottom, so everyone grab a rock.
2 sets of overhead presses
Shift to a new rock, 2 sets of curls.
Shift again, 2 sets of skull crushers
Shift again, 2 sets of bent over rows
Shift again, 2 sets of chest press
Rocks back, time for MWAR (Mary With A Rope)
Pax took turns calling out the exercise while also taking turns on the rope. Somehow disorganized and not in a consistent order, but it worked out. 0616, recover-recover.
Moleskine:
Popcorn dragged himself out of his vehicle looking just plain angry. Think he mighta been sleep-driving.
Rodeo got in a full 42 mins of a workout today.
Rocket objected to most every cadence count. He reallly values pattern and consistency.
The pax was calling for a VQ in the near future for both Ponch and Toby. YHC agrees – they're ready.
Prayers up for the Huntersville family of 4 young children who lost both parents last week to COVID. The father was also a fireman. I believe there is a Go Fund Me set up for the children who I believe may have to be separated among various new family caregivers.
Prayers up for Bill Doherty. Huntersville dad, age approx 53. Strong and in great shape, coach and great guy. Total badass who 10 years ago survived being hit by a truck while riding his bike, held on to the truck and was dragged until another motorist was able to flag the driver down. Made a full recovery 10 years ago but has been in the hospital for a week now with COVID and is not making any progress with his recovery. When asked what he wanted for his birthday, he responded "The vaccine."
Thanks to Enron for holding me accountable and asking me to Q. After a couple weeks of travel, I needed this today. The Force is out.
*shocker*
