Remember Don Zimmer…circa 2003

Event Date

AO

6 strong pax…3 above plus Spinnarkel, Riptide and YHC…re-lived this day in baseball history in 2003 when Don Zimmer (bench coach for the Yankees) infamously charged Pedro Martinez and promptly was thrown on his rear.  To us he looked like he was doing a really bad burpee (hint hint).  Our exercise groupings all had reps of 10, 11, 20, and 03 and incorporated baseball themes OR things that reminded us of Don Zimmer getting tossed around like a rag doll (like maybe a burpee).

Warmup:

Normal TPR warmup routine, including SSH, IST, leg stretches, incline and decline Merkins, squats.

Mosey to the Davidson Track

Da Thing:

Snake the stadium, but at each exit point in the stands we hit the track for our workout stations.

Station 1: All in cadence – 10 merkins, 11 squats, 20 CDD, 3 burpees OYO

Station 2: All in cadence – 10 Bulgarian Ball Busters (Ball…get it), 11 Diamond merkins (aka baseball diamond), 20 WWII situps (because we think Zimmer was in WWII), 3 burpees OYO

Station 6: All in cadence – 10 mtn climber merkins, 11 airborne mind bender (Zimmer was laid out like this after Pedro threw him), 20 BBC (big baby crunch), 3 burpees OYO

Snake back to the midpoint of the track in full and mosey back to the green

We spent so much time honoring Zimmer that we only had time for one Mary – 60 seconds of low flutter.

Moleskin:

We had a couple of prayers for people going through horrible divorces.  Keep all friends in these situations in your prayers.

I am continually impressed by the RESPECT we have in our group.  Strong men!!!

Remember, we are blessed to be part of this group.  It is a privilege to work out every day with so many friends in such great communities.  Take advantage of it and be thankful!

Aye!!!
