Two brave souls came out to the first installment of the year at Cobalt to do some light stretching and heavy core. It was MILK – it does a body good

  • This was Q’s first post since November 2021 when we was shut down from participating in any and all F3 shenanigans by Dr. Evil
  • The rest of the story involved, and is edited for brevity, the following loose chain of events:
    • Compression fracture of the L5 vertebrae (that’s pretty much yo’ arse if looking at a skeleton)
    • Prior to the x-ray which confirmed the diagnosis, Q had expressed on numerous times that whatever mysterious physical ailment he was feeling was “Tearing the Ass Outta Me…..”
      • Hat tip (h/t) to the Jerky Boys
    • Which may (or may not) have all begun on Father’s Day 2021, June 19th
    • This said outing could (or could not) involved a new yeti backpack cooler, 29 beers on ice and a slick gangplank heading to the water
    • Some quality time off for healing (this patient hates when Dr. Evil is right)
    • And a lengthy rehab program to get back to the gloom
  • We’re all caught up
  • With some of the old regulars not able to post until next week, it was a good to have a light intro back into the swing of things
  • For those not in attendance, there was fond remembrances shared of their form, or distinct lack thereof
  • 911 is back from a mission trip to Dubai. He was warned ahead of time “Sharif don’t like it!”
  • Coming to a bumper sticker near you: 1) Mobility Means Longevity and 2) Self-Care is Not Selfish
  • What’s a frog pose?
  • Reminder that the Broga line of demarcation is 45 degrees at launch time.
  • Save the Date – The second annual MILF3 “Get Your Rear in Gear” sprint triathlon is planned for Saturday June 4 with an 8am start time. We will offer both an individual race option and a relay option for the event. Proceeds from this year’s race will benefit the Camino Health Center, a local health center that provides affordable integrated care to the local Charlotte community.
  • The race will start and finish at the boat launch/gazebo area and include a ~1/2 mile swim from the boat launch, a ~12.5 bike course that will be three 4+ mile loops primarily on the main road of OMD and then a ~3 mile run thru the neighborhood. I have it on good intel that there will be beer available at the finish line (#thatishowirace)
  • Prayers lifted up for Mojito's mom who passed away. We understand that she was a very fine lady, and did some incredible things with roasted pork
  • There was a whole heckuva lotta stretching going on. It does a body good. Troof
  • Great job fellas!
