RTR: Running the Ruff at The Wilderness

In the light of keeping the backblast from "going the way of the dodo" as Blackbeard stated a few days ago, YHC, Topgun, is posting the backblast in lieu of Landshark.  So below is submitted for your reading enjoyment.

Started the day with a surprise edition of Run The Ruff from The Wilderness, also known as RTR.

Always striving to continuously improve, the PAX were eager to comment to the Q that a little warning on the pre-blast, such as "bring headlamps", would be good.  Luckily, the Q had a new cap with a built-in headlamp (which was really cool) but with apparently a 'hard to find" on/off button as he shined it even during name-o-rama.  Public service announcement – turn off headlamps when talking to other PAX.   See?, this is what you get when you don't do your own backblast, a little constructive criticism.

So most of the PAX wore lots of black, no blinkies, and only one headlamp, but that didn't stop us from the RTR.

Off we go down the Wynfield Creek Parkway, stopping at every street on the left to do… Burpees! and one other exercise.  We started at 2x Burpees at the first street, ramped up to a max of x20, and as the PAX started to rebel, ramped it down by 2x burpees until making the final sprint toward the Clubhouse to arrive right on time… maybe a few minutes after the usual 0555 COMEX (complete exercise).

Moleskin:

1.  YHC remembers the number was 12, but old age has affected his recollection of all PAX in attendance.  Hence the use of the cell phone voice recorder during name-o-rama.  Always recommended.  Feel free to post up below and I'll make corrections to above Pax list.

2.  There has been mumble chatter about wearing all black in the gloom and its safety implications.  YHC is a prime offender, as most of my wardrobe is dark Navy blue and black.  Perhaps at least wearing some vest/blinkies/headlamp would mitigate the hazards.  I'll work on it.

3.  Also has been mumble chatter in the gloom of lack of Q's volunteering.  Get on the calendar and sign up.  Go to an AO you've never been to.  My goal is to Q at a minimum of every other week.  That is only 26 a year.  Should be everybody's minimum goal, IMHO.  Confession, I only Q'd nine times last year, so I've got some improvements to make.

Great time as always at The Wilderness.  Thanks to Landshark for leading.  RTR is a tough one to time, getting back on time, but he did a good job of calling an audible and skipping the last road on the left and heading back.  Good leadership call.
